i'm delighted. for a while i've been blowing through my savings, buying stuff like moonsand from the commercials -- in short, i overspend. i needed a job. i interviewed with a big company monday, i thought it went well, when i left they told me they were going to interview until the end of next week, and then call in people for second round interviews.

today, while i was skipping around with a mouthful of red licorice, taking a break from a story about a hitman who uses a mosquito as a weapon.

the phone rang. i picked it up and said 'ergat uwe', chewing red licorice.

lo and behold, it turned out to be the human resources contact from said big company. i spit out the red licorice. it looked like guts.

instead of scheduling a second interview, she offered me the job! i told her, 'i accept your offer!' then i got off the phone, just in case she had second thoughts. i start in a week or so. i wrote all this information down with a stubby broken pencil on a receipt for belts. i hope i don't lose that receipt! anyhow -- now i can buy more moonsand without feeling guilty at overspending.

then, tonight i get home and find a message. about this state of iowa job i wanted! i gotta call back monday to find out if they are also going to offer me a job. i hope so! i so want to celebrate martin luther king day. i want both jobs. i need to see a man about a clone.

what's really exciting about this, is that my sister's birthday is coming up, and we're in currently engaged in gift war II. she's the axis, i'm the allies. she sent out her suicide pilots at christmas with terribly embarrassing gifts and when i thought it was done, she deployed the luftwaffe, to drop yet more presents of a shameful nature.

i've been meaning to get her back. but for this diabolical plan of the allies (that's me!) i need a lot of disposable filthy lucre.

It sounds like you need to see a man about 100 dildos.

And that man is Greg Nog.

I just had an awesome day.

made waffles, then played basketball with a handful of people. Then had a serious dinner of yummy sushi that lasted for like... 3 hours. then poker!

so tired, so happy!

I had a nice time last night with Brian, Lucy, Jess, Jim, Blake, and Blake's girlfriend -- even if Blake didn't know who I was! It's OK! I don't know who I am, either! I wish Jim would come back to LPTJ but I completely understand and respect his need to walk away from here, possibly permanently.

Also, the forecast for last night had snow falling, but there is none on the ground this morning, so I may go for a walk.

my friends who is the president of the main student organization at my school was at an interview with the most read news paper in the land. and in the question "who is the funniest?" (it's highlighted in the picture) he mentions my name (NZ-Grace can confirm that) and says that i have the "most evolved humor ever seen". this really made my day. it's not like we are best friends or anything and he was just saying that, i've never really hung out with him alone, so it's nice to know that i thought of me and not some of his closer friends. my mom went "you never tell us any jokes", that's true though, you should be able to relax with your family, jokes are merely a tool for getting people to like you.

I'm not sure if we were "partying" per se, but we were definitely stilll intoxicated. Some of us started drinking at 4pm, and we were up until 4am, so yeah.

And yes, it was really awesome hanging out with everyone. I am feeling all the more pull to try to move here for school if I can.

But in happy news, today was my first day back in classes after the break. And it was as awesome as ever, shame the year is nearly over. What am I going to do for external validation over the summer months?

Jim'll be back. We just need to bait him.
In the alcohol thread: "Mmm- mmm! I am LOVING this Budweiser! Best beer evar!"
In the (one of the) food threads: "Pizza is for suckers."
In the annoyance thread: "You know what I hate? Bicyclists who ride on the damn road. Why don't they get on the sidewalk where they belong? Next time one of those fuckers comes alongside me in MY lane, I'm'a door that son of a bitch."
