I just watched all the You Suck At Photoshop videos and my soul feels a little more crushed for it.
Thanks for the heads up, these videos are great.

Having lived in one such fraternity/dorm/student association, I can assure you alex that everything you need to know about your housemate's character can be determined by knowing what her sorority is famous for.

Hahaha. Too bad I didn't ask for the name of the association! I might try to steer the conversation back to the topic and see if I can find out, though.

Pretty sure she has noticed that we don't live in the same world, too. And that I'm not nearly hip enough for her student association. She must be able to hear me listen to Kris Kristofferson through the walls and stuff.

Also, as much as I struggle with getting used to the thought, I'm on the other side of the student/teacher dividing line now. (PhD students are considered and treated as university employees here, I don't even have a valid student ID.)

PS: I owe you an e-mail.

Heh, I have a teacher library card at the Institute of Political Science myself, and it feels really weird. As does the fact that some of "my" interns are a few years older than I am.

It is such a strange feeling.

What is also strange is that I've come so dependent upon an atmosphere of being surrounded by people who are hard at work. I completely lack this atmosphere today (Wednesday, Thursday and Monday are holidays here, the Friday in between we have to take off, so it really shouldn't come as such a surprise that a lot of people are taking today and tomorrow off as well to get a nice little vacation out of this), and, man, it is hard to get any work done.

I can understand this - sometimes I wish I wasn't alone in my office (then I immediately think to myself "What, you crazy?!", but still)

So I think Sci Fi channel is conspiring to keep me from school today. I just stumbled upon the Dr. Who hour.

They had it for awhile, didn't they? I thought the original guy left and they kept on for another few seasons, but it fizzled out.

There's a commercial on for one of those tools for extracting stripped screws.

I found myself thinking it still wouldn't be as useful as a sonic screwdriver.

It seriously went downhill once Joel left...

Looking in my glasses case I see the optometrist has me as MRS Grace Russell. It made me sort of sad

i was just in the bathroom washing my hands and discovered when i looked in the mirror that i have black eyes, which i guess came from me rubbing my eyes vigorously due to allergy-related itching. i definitely noticed earlier today that when my hair would touch the skin between my eyes and the bridge of my nose that it was bothering the hell out of me, but i had no idea that this was because my eyes were visibly bruised. damn.

My yiayia just fell down, face-first, a few days ago, and I got to see a photo of her with huge raccoon-like black eyes that she got as a result of that fall.  It was kind of awesome, in that she looks pretty cheery in the photo, so her general demeanor appears to be that of a scrappy-ass thug of an old lady.

I made it to the coffee shop and I'm sitting here on my girlfriend's laptop with the rhinestones and Hello Kitty stickers. My coworker bought me a coffee which he should of because I made him $1000 by putting his referral on my job application.

Comcast has a node outage or something today. Fuck that shit.
