I don't know, I mean, you're right, but 11 just doesn't seem like a year. I can't get used to this 2000 thing at all.

I agree, Chris. I'd go so far as to say that "2011" seems somehow menacing; in general, though, I am not fond of the number 11. It is shark-like and cruel. Sorry, fellow palindrome. You're mean!

If it was really 2000 something, we'd have flying cars and bubble cities and stuff. I'm fairly sure someone's just trying to play an elaborate joke on me.

hah, i've discovered (through working retail) that the most recently issued discover cards often are misprinted, and list 2013 as the expiration date. i say this is a misprint because my computer always says that these expiration dates are invalid. if you change them manually to 2012, however, they go through without fail. i've taken to telling customers that what's going on here is that the credit card system knows that the world is ending in 2012 and therefore won't accept the 2013 dates because it's after the end of the world. at least half of the people i've said this to have accepted it without blinking.

The sound of a lawn mower makes me happy. As shitty as I feel right now, all it really takes is the sound of someone starting up their mower and I feel ten times better.

hah yeah. i had the domain you know. and, this is completely mercenary, but i'm hoping for free books. i had a blog a few years ago where i got some free books, and then i was like omg i am so lame this is a horrible blog, but i want some advance reader copies of some stuff that i know is circulating among blogs so i bit the bullet.
that frightened rabbit album is really good. at first i wasn't sure i liked it, but now it reminds me of a scottish okervil river kinda sorta. (i might be reaching with that).

So I flipped on the TV this morning and proceeded to ignore it while doing a few other things, but when I came back I realized that Lifetime was on (due to the drunken decision to fall asleep in front of an episode of Frasier last night). Apparently there was a movie on involving Molly Shannon playing twins and after seeing a few minutes of it, I realized that the post production staff responsible for editing together all the scenes with two Mollys probably came out of the project thinking "I put all those hours in for THIS?"

How many boards would the Mongols horde if the Mongol hordes got bored?
That movie looks awesome!
This comic book illustrator took a bunch of kid's drawings of monsters and superheros and turned them into paintings. Neat shit!
