alexandra- i saw those photos on flickr today. i love them!

just buying a holga doesn't make the film develop around the spokes.  you have to have it printed that way.

i recenrtly bought a polaroid 100 land camera (because it was VERY CHEAP).  what kind of film would you film nerds recommend for it?  what have you liked?

when i use my holga there is not printing all around the spokes.  are you talking about modding film to fit the holga and not using 120 film?  i'm confused.

If you take some tape or rubber bands and make the slot on the take-up reel narrower and add some shims to the film area, you can shoot 35mm on a Holga. Further instructions here: http://shop.lomography.com/holga-backup/35.html

It's kind of a pain in the ass because you have to find a darkroom to re-roll the film back in the cartridge when you're done, but it does give you some interesting effects.

At least this is what I'm assuming she did. Alex has a wide variety of weird and awesome cameras, so it's just as likely she did something else.

It's a 35mm back for a camera that I can't talk about yet. But sorry Diesel, you lost your $5, you may send it to:

20 Jay street suite 314 Brooklyn, ny 11201
attn: alexandra

Diesel is right about using 35mm in a holga, though there are much better ways to do it that I won't go into detail about. You can run 35 in any medium format manual camera and it will expose on the sprockets.

the problem is that you can't have the developer scan or print with the sprockets. Each frame has to be individually scanned and boy howdy that took forever (i have 9 rolls to do.. :/ )

CRYSTALCAKES:
690, or 665 for sure

Thanks urrbody! I appreciate it!

Awesome pics, AK! I'm camera-illiterate, basically, so I don't know a thing about the technique, but those pics that are developed across the whole of the film are supremely cool.

Man, I just found out about these toy cameras:

but they were sold almost exclusively in Japan a long time ago, and so they're really hard to find and expensive.  Sad

If anyone is ever at a yard sale or Goodwill and runs across something like this, or an Agfa Clack, buy it for me, k? I will Heart you.

Have you looked on Ebay? I remember running into a vendor there awhile back that had a bunch of those and similar for cheap. Not sure if there's a really thriving market right now, but it might be worth a look?
