it's a photo taken in russia in the mid 90's. I know the guy develops himself and uses tungsten film often, but i can't figure out how he manages that look. my colors with tungsten come out too bold, too bright, shadows too dark, this is the closest i've gotten:



but it's wrong. i get frustrated.

back to the drawing board with underexposure and overexposure for the next few weeks.

I think I just learned this last night, actually!! Umm I want to say you leave it in the fixer for double the time? This is what my friend says.. I'm not sure about how to develop color, but it's made with copper, right? Not silver? Either way, I was thinking about this and what you do is you're taking off the metal so it gets that desaturated feel.

i like how the palm tree towers over everything else in that photo.  its like "here in california our palm trees are monsters and could destroy this town if they chose to do so"
