I got my mark back from my religious studies assignment! Due to a long series of fuckups its two weeks after everyone else got theirs back, but its back, and my tutor says
A-
Excellent research assignment here. The abstract could have been trimmed significantly.
.........
But overall, a very well-researched and well-written essay. Cheers

That's a great comment you got there Grace!

Assembling my coffeemaker (powered by indignation) was one of the better decisions I've made in a while. It makes my pre-work slacking much more productive.

I had a dream that Jeb and I had been through a war together (as suffering civilians, not soldiers) and had regrouped years later at Jeb's art show. Only Jeb understood why I had to speak with a Scottish accent, and only I understood why Jeb was obsessed with painting large, mutlicolored dots. I woke up feeling emo as hell. We're fucked up, but we survived, man! We're still alive!

I don't like law school. I get comments back that are like "this is one of the better legal arguments I've seen since I started teaching here: Grade? B" "Excellent! 7/10!"
As opposed to undergrad, where I got the comment "Freddy, this is an outstanding paper. But I have this nagging feeling that you did the entire thing at the last minute. Your natural talent will only take you so far. A'

It's probably just because you're at the weed-out stage. I had a professor in an undergrad weed-out class who gave me a B++ on a paper because she refused to give anyone an A, ever.

You know, I hear about stuff like that -- you have to get on these people's asses. Do not accept less than an A! Hound those mofos if you have to and make them tell you exactly what you would have to do differently to get an A. Eventually the cost of fending you off will outweigh whatever benefit they get from their fucking fraudulent grading.

I on the other hand am still apparently at the stage where I can get an A on a paper for any old thing
Like that one I was bitching about a couple weeks ago that I just kind of slammed out in two hours while watching the Simpsons on surfthechannel? Yeah, that was an A paper. It's kind of disappointing in a way cuz I think about all the time and real effort I've put into most of the papers I write, and it turns out I can get the same grades without even trying.
Oops, my education has been a lie! Lulz!

What i worry about now is that I can get by in first year, but it will get harder, and I'm not getting any smarter. I think I will be struggling next term.

Nonesense! You'll be fine; it doesn't really get exponentially harder as time goes on. Not in the humanities, at least.
Also, school's not about making you smarter, it's about making you aware of how stupid you truly were to begin with

I fixed my shower head. For 3 years it's been a trickle, for the first two years I lived here I didn't know how to adjust it. Today I disassembled it and cleaned it. I'm really very lazy. I also bought a new shower head, because I still am not pleased with the pressure on this one.

Apples and pears, GI.
Bear in mind the US invented an entry-level deodorant called 'Xtra Xtra Dry'.

It's not a deodorant, guy. It's an ANTI-PERSPIRANT.
