The amp I'm waiting to arrive frm Hong Kong has been taking a trip round China, according the track&trace, but my nice new headphones arrived today - a 2nd hand pair of Grados - big, with heavy duty cable the size of a power cable... but they sound
real
nice. And I paid about 20% of normal retail for them.

East coast and gay marriage are both totally sweet, but I'm most excited about my roommates being gone for the weekend. There's a solid chance that I'm going to spend this evening totally naked, eating Taco Bell and watching Samurai Jack.

Rainy! I realized this morning that the rain meant a big day of seeing wet and mildly angry-looking ladies in the subway, which I think is super!

Ha! It was sunny in Scotland today. SUNNY IN SCOTLAND. This is virtually unprecedented. I was walking to the cookware store to get a new pan (oh god I love cookware) wearing a green lantern hoodie (I love the green lantern) and I had to take it off because it was too hot. Unprecedented I say!

happiness is coming to work to find jerkbag boss not in for the day, and the receptionist pulling a newcastle out of her desk for me.
even if i turned it down, it was still a nice gesture on an otherwise stupid day.

James Schneider! Wow! Hello!
GUYS...
Chicago just got a lot more awesome.
It now includes me. Or, at least, it will come June.

Well, the only time I was in Scotland (January 2005, I think), it was gloriously sunny almost the whole time, except for one night where it snowed quite hard, which was also lovely. Clearly I can help with this lack of sunshine issue and the government should give me a free place somewhere in Scotland and also a job. Clearly.

I just had drinks in the beer garden at a local church converted into a pub. This is down the road from the church that I work in. It was lovely. It was with an old friend I had not seen in a long time. Also hello Roy. Long time etc.

Terrific!
The woman I will be working for in New York just emailed me and told me I am "remarkable." WHY YES I AM. Achoo I just sneezed on a $1200 Preston Sturges poster.

Hello Dominic, it has been far too long.
Two things happened to me today that were lovely.
Thing one: I accidentally dipped my new watch into the tub the other day. The watch seemed ruined, but it is a talking watch, and when you press a button, it tells you the time in a little voice. I found that while the digital face is no longer working, it will still announce the time to me at a moments notice.
Thing two: Stuart Murdoch and his wife Marissa were married in a courthouse in New York several months ago. On June 7, they will be married in the church for which I work, and my invitation to the after-party arrived today. Steve Jackson is going to, I think, be best man, and Monica Queen is singing at the wedding. This party is going to be a Glasgow Collective Epic. Incidentally, anyone who wants to along to the party and can get to Glasgow is invited, and i have a couch and a floor. I am accepting all takers, as I called up and found that everyone I want to bring will be accepted. I am happy to bring all takers to what promises to be the funnest caleigh ever.

Hello Dominic, it has been far too long.
It's certainly been a while. Glad to see you're still in the mix. Are you up to the same old tricks in Glasgow? Have any remarkable life changes come along since whenever it was we last spoke?

Umm, no longer at university, living in a one bedroom apartment, own two cats (how typical), full time job at a church of all places, and I'm fundamentally happy. So many many remarkable life changes. Basically I've become a human being.

My title is Church Officer. I'm the dude who brings the big bible out in a big robe at the beginning of the service. Also I maintain the church, the hall, and the building astride the church. I'm kind of a janitor/junior minister. I serve lunch to pensioners and go and visit them in hospital and in their homes. I teach sunday school and youth fellowship also. It makes a great pickup line at gay club nights. "Oh you're an art student? I work for the Church of Scotland." "Oh my god but you're" "yeah the minister is cool and I'm out to the congregation" "really, well this still feels kind of naughty" "do you want to go home with me and see the church?" etc.

Sounds like fine work, with some mighty useful fringe benefits. A double win.

I have been waiting a long time for even a single win. You've met me, so you know there's truth in that. Scoring a double win was heretofore unheard of. Huzzah!
