Yes. Congrats to all.
I've had a super shit week. Lost wallet, small car accident and sore back that followed, insane;y busy work place and shit weather. It's now Friday night, it's cold and rainy but i'm inside with a few friends with a roaring potbelly fire and mulled wine. I feel better.

I got promoted today. And was told that the company is modeling the department I now run, off the changes I have made for the entire world. (which basically means I am our companies efficiency expert for all sales.) word. And I get my bonus in a month and it's SWEET. I will be buying a new laptop and a bike, and maybe a flight to paris and maybe poland. woo woo!

You're gonna buy Poland? That's fucking awesome. Sweet bonus indeed.

Sound's like a plan. Good luck.

I'm happy because the RAID box I bought came today. It appears to be made of aluminum, is extremely heavy, and whirs satisfyingly. In short, it's got reliable written all over it.

My reissues of Loveless and Figure 8 finally got here today, I get paid today, I finally bought my Sasquatch! tickets, I'm no longer sick, and the hell that has been this semester is finally drawing to a close.

Also, tomorrow is Free Comic Book Day, and I get to go see Iron Man.

today i got a comment on my blog entry about the belfast gypsies from the drummer's brother, thanking me for the review and saying that he was sure his late brother would have appreciated it.

it's times like this when i realize why it is that i bother posting my lengthy rambles on the internet in the first place.

Congrats, Dave! Does this mean you can now oversee one of the supersoldier projects, rather than just participating in the research?

what model is it?

Newertech Guardian Maximus, 750 gig in a mirrored RAID 1, USB/Firewire 400/800.

I could probably have built one as RAID 1 cases aren't that hard to find, but as per my FileVault woes I needed it yesterday.

As mentioned before, it mounts, transfers at 800Mb/sec, and whirs reassuringly. Seriously. The drives spinning up sound like a tiny jet engine starting. Also, I have to give Newertech props for including a complete set of interface cables, a disk of various backup utilities, and a mound of various shareware on the drive itself. Other than the bullshit I mentioned elsewhere about the delay in shipping, I pretty much couldn't be happier thus far.

New speakers are on their way to me! New permanent pre and power amps to follow, as soon as people pay for records selling on auctions closing on Sunday! I can stop using these silly little active ones.

The neighbours will not be regarding this as such good news.
I'm really not all that loud. But I do play a lot of music that neighbour-type people will struggle with. If anybody upstairsthinks they're going to have a quiet bath above my bedroom, they've got another think coming.

what what? I thought people put their quarters in socks for security?
Of course we never had quarters... and now the smallest coin we have is basically a half.

What alarms me is your attitude seems to be less "I am going to enjoy listening to music" and more "I am going to enjoy making my neighbours miserable".

Went to the baseball game today and am burned to shit.  But I just had a couple more drinks (on top of the numerous numerous bud lights), and I can tell that its going to be one of those nights after a day in the sun where you just fucking sleep like a log.  ahh, my bed so comfy.

Hey I think I may have mentioned my enjoyment of listening to music here once or twice in the past.
And I'm really pretty quiet - the neighbours aren't here during the loud listening periods much, and I usually spend the really key listening hours (10pm to 3am) listening to late night records over and over again.

But I wouldn't mind if I didnt have to lie in bed and listen to them urinating above my head.
