This album (cover) is a bunch of bullshit.  You're going to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on instruments, studio time, mixing, mastering, pressing, packaging, distribution etc. plus the hours of your life devoted to, you know, actually crafting the songs you're recording...and you're going to slap that shitty doodle on the cover?  Yeah, you know what?  Fuck you.

Well, let's not expect too much of Jason Mraz.

I'm sayin that if your label can shell out the assloads of money to shoot your video in Rome and some tropical island somewhere, surely they could have gotten someone with a modicum of design expertise to make your record not look like the bland slab of wet cardboard that it is.

Oh, no doubt. I'm just saying his album cover doesn't particularly bug me.

More than 'kinda'!  Like my Tortoise/Wilco one a while back, the positioning is crucial- side by side works better, I think.

[Images removed because they did a way better job down there.]

Gonna have to shrink 'em down, Dr. Bob!

And while you're at it, stick this one in the middle!

I can't find a DNTEL one the right size, so this'll have to do.

No doubt this is an homage, but I'm posting it anyway:

Hawkwind - Space Ritual

Mastodon - Divinations (single/EP or something)

I don't know, it's different enough that I could believe that they came up with that on their own, without even thinking about that Hawkwind record.

That said, I have no doubt that those dudes all own copies of "Space Ritual."

narlus, that's got to be one of my favorites so far.

I really need to jump on that Giant Sand album.

Steve Earle - El Corazon
Giant Sand - Center of the Universe

Genesis - Hold on my Heart

Eagles of Death Metal - Heart On

This group then segues nicely into that group of fist-in-the-air covers from a few pages back, which should keep at least one LPtJer (aside from me) reasonably happy.

Can we link up all the album covers ever posted in any version of this thread? Do it, Doctor.

Also, Babar's rhino should be introduced to The Rosebuds' elephant (I think).

B- what's the rhino one?  kyle- the, um, heart one?
