The second I saw that Elf Power cover I was thinking "CSNY, Deja Vu." I was proud when I scrolled down and saw that Babar had gotten it covered.

Refused - Shape Of Punk To Come
Goodnight Monsters - Summer Challenge
Does anyone know if these two are an homage a specific album more famous, or is it just a style from the 60s many people used? Or are Goodnight Monsters taking it from Refused (both Swedish bands, it must be noted)? No way to tell I suppose.

Reatard lighting & makeup unfortunately shades to nu-metal liner notes.

ok, in a similar vein to the Reatard/Shining example, here's the photo that Factums uses for their cover:
it's from a Life nature library book on Evolution.
i had this set when i was a young kid, and now my youngest likes me to read these at bedtime. i saw that photo and remembered it from somewhere else. a few days of bouncing around in my head led me to the answer.
