Unfortunately I have no idea what they are like as I've never heard them (I came across the cover by chance), so someone else will have to field this.

I remember them as a pretty standard pop band quite competently playing pretty catchy pop songs, but I don't actually remember any of those catchy pop songs. So basically what I'm saying is someone else will have to field this (I think there were a couple of fans around here), or you can field it yourself, because merge is offering a stream of that album:

I can speak for their first full-length,
The Rosebuds Make Out
, which is some of the best pure indie pop I've ever heard. Really fun record. I've read reviews of their other albums, and from what I gather, they jump around a bit stylisitically, which is probably a good thing for a band like that. A couple of the albums have been a bit darker, I think. One of them was a synth-pop throwback...
If you feel the impulse, check out that first album (the one with horses on the cover). It's solid.

This description seems pretty accurate to me.
My favorite Rosebuds song:
"Wildcat"

The Rosebuds are pretty good live. Saw 'em touring for that first album. They've probably come on a bit since.
