If you ever decide to go on a crime spree, we'll all be able to identify you now.

If you ever decide to go on a crime spree in a rush t-shirt and that hat, the WWE will arrange to relocate you to a safe haven and sign you on the spot.

Josh, Lucy says that if she wasn't marrying me, she'd marry you.

Though, she admitted that if I owned the mask, she'd disown me.  But, you do look pretty awesome.

Been taking lots of photos lately.

Put some 1600-speed film in my FE2:

Put some slide film in my Autocord (a medium-format, TLR camera):

Took my dSLR around downtown Durham:

and got back my first roll of film shot on my Olympus Pen-EE S, a half-frame camera that takes two small pictures in the space of a normal 35mm picture:

It's my prized possession right now, and I'm only on roll 3! It's so cute, I totally adore it. I decided to throw caution to the wind and put some slide film in it. The old selenium meter seems to work well enough.

The Samurai, is that the one that looks like a movie camera?

Yup that's the one! It makes me feel like i'm stuck in the 1980s and i can't get out. It takes great pictures though. I feel like half frames make the mundane seem awesome, somehow.

I love the framing on the pen-ee though. it's 100% better than the samurai.

are you going to process the slides regularly? or xpro? think the lab will get confused with the half frame?

I always get develop only, no cut. That way, nobody gets confused. But, I have a friend who home-develops C-41, so I can xpro if I want over at his house.

Thanks, hm!

some photos that turned out well

i was taking a photo of this little section of rainbow in the sky and this pigeon flew into my frame

the palm trees in our backyard have really interesting and complicated pollination mechanisms.  i didn't even notice this part until i saw a whole bunch of stuff had fallen on the ground and then looked up.   i took this maybe last week and its gone already

This is where I spent the last week.

We call it the crooked cabin.  I am the only person in my generation who gets their own room!

This is the front of the cabin.  Normally they harvest the hay for ponies and stuff.  When I was little that was probably the worst day of my life - I hated it.  I never understood why it upset me so much, until I came back to newfoundland after living in Regina, and realized I was in love with wildflowers.

Here is a kitten in the cat barn where I got my beloved Lola last year. If I were to take a kitten home that year, this white and grey one would be the one I'd pick.  When I think of it she's a lot like Lola was except far more friendly and more caring.  (She took care of the baby kittens).

These are babier kittens.  They were pretty cute and mewling and sad at the same time.

This is the barn version of ceiling cat.  He's pretty burly.

My best friend came with me.  This is her getting ready for the Garden Party.  She's not very happy about those rollers.

Here she is giving me a kiss and looking like a fish.  We're at the garden party.

We left early to go take pictures of the beach, because the sun was setting and it was gorgeous and the only sunny day that week.  We couldn't pass it up.

I mean, can you blame us?

Beach beach beach beach.  There are more pictures of this walk but there are a lot of pictures in this post.

We also had a couple of beach fires and lit lobster pots on fire.

And played with fireworks and sparklers and fire colour changing packets.  I took maybe 500 pictures of fire for kicks.

It was pretty fun.
