Two Internet phenomena in one: Snake in a Box!
That box is about four feet long, for reference.

The hi-res version of this is my desktop now and I don't know if I'll ever get tired of it, it's so damn lovely. Amazing work, Alex.

the big hole in that first picture, by the way, is the largest hole in the world. it's a diamond mine.

the two photos second-to-last in that sequence (above the statue) were taken in pripyat, the city of 40,000 citizens located right next to chernobyl. it was entirely deserted 25 years ago, and has become a giant, rotting, empty science fiction movie set. if you ever want to kill some time and get creepy, type in "pripyat" to flickr and see where it takes you.

Unfortunately, you can't post pictures that way, since we don't have access to your GMail. You need to post the pic to Flickr or wherever first, and then link to that.
