I think this was because around the time the list exchange happened I was on unemployment, and the cost of mailing something to New Zealand seemed prohibitive and very very far away, and then I just forgot and was gone for a long time. I am sorry! PM me your address again and I promise you will get something before Christmas.

I had no idea about the photoshopping-his-kids thing. If that happened to me, I don't know what I'd do. "Cranky" would be the least of it. It would take a lot to cause me to leave this board, but something like that...

yeah, that was the part i was shocked about.  this photoshopping thing seemed pretty serious.

but if someone really feels it's a waste of time and they want to leave, they should.  you can't drag someone back.

Ordinarily I'd say, why don't you just move up to Canada if you want a government that supports decent social policies. But you guys are only two months away from having a much better government than we do.

It's none of my fucking business and I don't know because I don't have kids, but as far as I can remember, the photoshopping consisted of a couple crudely drawn (MS Paint-style) dicks being added to one of Jim's photos of one of his kids. Thermo was out of line and refused to acknowledge it, Jim got (understandably, justifiably) pissed and took off.

Jim's his own man and he's gotta do what he's gotta do and I won't respect him any less because of his decision. But dumping an entire group of people, most of which like you and appreciate your company, because of one flippant remark regarding a personal beef with someone who doesn't even post here anymore? Well, I just don't think I can get behind that.

But like I said, it's none of my fucking business and I don't know because I don't have kids.

It was the first time I'd had it and we were drinking it straight along with some beers.  I ended up too drunk to ride my bike so I took a nap in my office before I headed home.  This morning I was still drunk, not hungover, not woozy, drunk.
