Safari has started to freeze every time I open it. Like from a fresh reboot, I open Safari and get the spinny color wheel and nothing else; the page never loads. What the hell?
I just recently (as in a few days ago) repaired all permissions and ran other maintenance scripts... Safari has been acting wonky ever since I went to the new version. Is anyone else having this problem?

You're using the beta right?  I've been having the same problem with the Windows version.  Thing just kinda sucks at this point.  I'd reinstall 3.

Man, this is infuriating. I reinstalled it, and it still just hangs when I start the browser. What kind of fucking sense does that make?

When you re-installed, did you just delete the application or did you delete everything (ie the bookmarks file, the history file, etc)?

Just the application. But then I used the uninstaller and now I'm back to 3 and it's still doing the same thing.
Help, this is my first real Mac software problem!

Well that's weird.  Are you sure it's not something connection-side?  Have you reset your router/modem?  In my experience, slow connections sometimes hang Safari up.

Nah man cuz I'm using Firefox to browse on the same machine. Both are set to load LPTJ at startup, and Firefox does it fine while Safari just spins that stupid ball endlessly.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? It's to the point now that I just can't use Safari, period.

No idea. I would think it's something internal and not my or even mediafire's fault, but really, I'll be damned if I know.

So I AppZapped Safari and reinstalled and it seems to be okay. Still weird.

AppZapp, okay.  I was going to tell you to figure out how to blow away absolutely everything associated with Safari, and I guess that's what AppZapp does.

Did you try trashing your preferences? That's sometimes a good cure for randomly crashing programs.

does your browser have a "download manager" running somehow? i once saved a bunch of email attachments to my friend's computer and they were still sitting in this download manager window thing next time he downloaded something. i think he was using firefox. it was a couple of years ago, but maybe something somewhere knows you're trying to downlaod that file and is still trying to "fix" what it sees as a broken download?

Okay, here's an Apple question. When I installed Leopard on my laptop, I did a wipe and a clean install because I had the resources to do so. Unfortunately, that also took out my copy of iLife. While that hasn't been a problem thus far, I've got a client that wants some iPhoto books (don't ask, he's paying, I'm doing). If I go through the trouble of digging up my old Tiger install discs, could I reinstall iLife from them?

Hey people, go here

http://www.mimifirst.org/shows.htm

and tell me if you see the flash textbox on the left or just empty white.  For me, it won't show up in Firefox, but will in IE and Chrome?  Does anyone know why?  I'm just using an <object><embed> tag.
