El Hadj Diouf is training at West Ham and the fans are in fucking uproar. I think there is more anger over this than there was over The Bond Scheme or even Paul Ince's Man United shirt photo. Most germane of his many crimes and misdemeanors is the fact that he spat at West Ham fans when playing for Liverpool. If he does sign, I think that's the end for Allardyce. He may not go straight away, but nevertheless that will be the moment when it became inevitable.

He also spat at a kid at Celtic Park whilst playing for Liverpool. Guy is an absolute scumbag and should have been hounded out of the game a long time ago. On top of that he is an awful footballer. It was actually a relief to see him on the park at Rangers last year because he was so bad.

The Manchester Derby was on TV in America, so I watched it off and on while packing boxes. As a viewer I was hoping for something a little less one-sided, but the frustrated, agonized faces in the stands at Old Trafford made up for it.

Yes,, I saw that. I feel sorry for Dean Saunders there as he's getting mucked about quite a bit. From what I understand they're practically being
run by an agent now
(and a dodgy one, if that's not a truism, at that).

Champions' League - Lyon overturned an 8 goal difference margin as they won 7-1 & Ajax lost 3-0. Suggestions are Ajax had 2 perfectly good goals disallowed & Dinamo Zagreb defender was caught caught winking after a goal went in.
Just
how dodgy is that?

I think you and I discussed this a while back but it's weird that you're so excited about that. Rather than the Rangers folding or dissolving, wouldn't you rather they continue to exist in the interest of perpetuating the rivalry/the beautiful hatred it creates? Also wouldn't losing one of the only two teams in the SPL that anyone's ever heard of be bad for the league?

See our CEO's statement. We don't need them. They exist purely as a reaction to us - they were formed before us, but their whole culture and ethos developed as a result of anti catholic sentiment. They run on hatred, we don't.
There will probably still be a "Rangers" after this. But it will be a "new" club and their history and list of achievements will have been effectively erased.
And if they do disappear completely, I would say that would improve our chances of getting out of the SPL and competing elsewhere. We would be a much more attractive package without their baggage weighing us down.

Right now the press are talking about this as if it's a huge problem for Scottish Football. Celtic nearly went bust in the 90s, but luckily there was a man able to come in and save us and make a huge investment. It went down to the very last minute though. Do you think the Scottish press had the same concerns then?
This was the reaction of Scotland's best selling newspaper.
Yes, they actually paid to have a herse placed outside of Celtic Park. So you'll forgive me for being a little bit smug about this.
