Just a quick heads up, the forums Large Hearted Boy (also of his own swank mp3 blog) calls JD "perhaps the greatest living American songwriter" in  today's The Morning News. Which I know is kind of not where John wants the chatter to go, (sorry!) but I thought because he's (LHB) a forum member, and so am I, and I am a regular writer for TMN there was more than one reason to give a heads up here.

Wow, great article! Love the roundtable format applied to music bloggers. TMN is such a cool site.

Gotta say "thanks, David" real loud and public-like: thanks, man! I feel especially bad now, knowing that the fall tour won't be going through Alabama. One of these days, though. I've always wanted to play there.

Birmingham's actually started booking some decent shows, there are some newer venues that believe that music can consist of more than cover bands or karaoke. The Venerable Nick is still around, I love it because it reminds me of Atlanta's old 688 Club, where I was introduced to great live music.

We're actually about halfway between Nashville and Birmingham, in Drive-By Trucker country. We'll catch the MG's in Nashville (yet another acronym).
