I read it in high school and liked it ok, but the real game changer for me was a day in the life of ivan denisovich.  I loved that book when I was 15.

i cant decide if i need another bookcase or if i need to start getting rid of books. definitely one of those though.

I went the "get rid of books" route. I whittled down my pretty big collection to my favorite authors, and also to books that would paint the most agreeable light to visiting ladies (example: I hated The Awakening, but I sure as hell left it on the antique bookcase in clear view of the couch next to a couple Jane Austens and a copy of Fear of Flying, because I'm sleazy like that)
