I have one of those zit things on my forehead that basically gives me a headache if anything touches it or stretches/folds the skin nearby.  Best not to be furrowin, I spose.

Look at it as a blessing. Zits are temporary, wrinkles permanent.

I wish now was a good time to communicate to my roommate that I don't want to live with her mom.

Goddamn, from the time I woke up till now I've gone from having a slight tickle in my throat to a full-on swollen tonsil that hurts every time I swallow. Blerg.

I hate that phenomenon. You wake up feeling almost fully recovered/in fine health, and by the afternoon you want to curse your morning self for its foolish hope.

I didn't read at all over the weekend, and I'm feeling pretty bad about it. Spent yesterday watching recent movies and nature shows in HD.

That's not a horrible alternative. I stopped keeping track of my reading pace but I'm not doing too badly. The current book turned out to be a quick read, thank god.

My current annoyance seems so minor compared to all the illnesses and so forth -- I'm just annoyed that the baby's bottles have so many fiddly parts to clean.

i want my weekend back, too. i did a bunch of fun stuff (hung out in zombieland with chet and girl, got a new mp3 player, went to see one of my favourite bands), but still feel somehow...cheated. is this a sign that i don't enjoy work? or perhaps that the scales of procrastination/activity have tipped too far in favour of the former? or something else entirely? i don't know, but i wish it was saturday morning again and i could actually do something with the sixteen hours or so that i spent sitting around fiddling with mp3s, looking at the dirty dishes and thinking about cleaning them, and wondering if anyone would be around on xbox live if i bothered to turn on the console.

That is pretty much how I felt about my Sunday! All I did all day was dread going to work today.

For being pretty damn sick, I had a pretty productive weekend. Last weekend, when I wasn't sick, I had a not-so-productive weekend. Something about being sick makes me restless and kicks my motivation up a few notches, though it's difficult reconciling an increase in mental energy with a decrease in physical energy.

I'm annoyed because I had to work three 12-hour days over the weekend.  The hospital is actually overfull with patients.  Mainly right now, we have a nasty RSV (respiratory infection that is especially cruel to young children) season.  So in addition to the regular patients, we have a zillion "snotty babies."  A big part of the treatment is sucking the snot out with thin suction catheters.  They love that.  This weekend was just unfun.

Also, we bought a pretty leather couch, and the cats were pretty good with it for months.  We also have a mail slot into our house in lieu of a mailbox.  The cats dart out of the room every time the mail comes.  Of course, now twice within the same week, they have put scratches into the couch with a daily dart.  Damnit!

I woke up this morning with the thought that going to work today ought to be optional.  And in a way I guess it is but not really.

I am so incredibly tired right now. I've got to wake up and get over this jet lag! My trip was really amazing, but we were pulling 13 - 18 hour days pretty much the whole time we were there, and the only free day we had was spent writing a paper. I got home on Friday and had to write two more papers this weekend. Now I just want to sleep forever, but my first class for the spring semester is tomorrow. No time for a break!

I need a break!!!

Also I need a job. Badly. So that I can study abroad again in the summer, in Scotland. Do want.

Ooh, I will have to keep that in mind. I think I'm going to look around at local archives, museums and libraries first, but it's definitely something to think about. Thanks!

Why do people in my country keep doing terrible things to kittens? Maybe this happens everywhere, but there have been two high profile cases recently of people doing things to kittens that are so awful you wish you could unhear hearing about them.
