Isn't this show ABC's biggest moneymaker?

Not remotely, no.

What is? Some gimpass reality show?

Also jeb Lost spoilers don't count cuz the plot doesn't make any sense even when you're watching it yourself

Yeah you can't really spoil a show that consists of narrative non-sequiturs. and nothing else

And and why don't ya watch it when it AIRS, like a NORMAL PERSON, instead of on Hulu or Bittorrent or Zulu or VeeTee or TubeBoob or whatever, you you WEB 2.0 FREAK

Things I'm giddily researching on the INTERNET this morning, because I'm excited about Lost again, because I hate myself for it, because the recap special raped my brain:

-what happened to annoying little bastard Walt
-what happened to the polar bears
-what happened to that crazy French bitch Rousseau
-what happened to EKO, that guy was THE MAN
etc.

Lost made them a bunch of money back in S1, but A) it's audience has been slowly dwindling ever since, B) repeats perform terribly.  Had they not set an end date it might've even been in danger of cancellation last year.

But yeah, The Bachelor and Dancing with the Stars definitely make more money than Lost.  Not positive, but probably Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, too, especially with that show's relentless product placement. Data for this kind of thing isn't really online, but I'd wager Grey's has a better bottom line too, once you factor in repeats.  Maybe even Desperate Housewives.

Also, WTF were you talking about?  Terry O'Quinn was hilariously bad in that faux-Kurtz scene.

That premiere in general was really fucking boring.  I was rather surprised; usually they try to do something crazy and over-the-top in their premieres.  This is was already like a mid-season water-treader.

Huh! I just assumed it was still clocking much ducats due to the fact that the entire human race seemed to be talking about Lost yesterday.

Oh, I'm sure they'll see a significant ratings bump for the final season, especially for the premiere and the finale.  It's kind of why they decided to do it that way.

I'm probably the only one who notices this kind of shit, but I've always been impressed at how the Lost score is so terribly cheesy and so terribly effective at the same time. Always a bunch of ominous tremolo celli and trombone glisses and what not

I actually was thinking about this just last night (while watching that stupid show that for some reason I can't not watch).  I think it was one of the "arpeggiated major chords played on a piano at 40bpm" pieces that set me off.

I actually had a lot of fun with last night's episode. This show is arguably better now without all the flashback filler.

Yeah, the "slow piano arpeggios over strings" 'theme' for slow-mo emotional moments is especially noticeable as it's not only cheesy as hell but stands in stark contrast to the brassy, low-strings-y misappropriations of The Rite of Spring that characterize the rest of the score.

Yeah, I definitely liked last night's episode as much as any episode of that show that I've really liked.  Like I said before, I'm looking forward to things being tied up (and as such am glad that this is the last season), and hoping against hope that it continues to actually surprise me, and doesn't do that thing I hate where what I assume to be the surprise turns out to be way lamer and way more obvious than I expected.

Yeah, I haven't read any of the post-airing speculation, but it's pretty goddamned obvious that Sayid is now Jacob. A final Locke/Sayid Light/Dark proxy showdown could be pretty awesome, though!

I think your formatting has the opposite of the intended effect.

But yeah, that part was obvious, and the part that led up to that was also kind of extremely obvious.  But hey, there could be a cool story there, and I'm looking forward to that.

Really? On my screen it just looks like a solid red block.

Fuck a spoiler warning anyway, really.

What's the over/under on not-Locke/Smoke Monster's "wanna go home" thing being about outer space? I wouldn't put it past these writers.

Mine too.

I disagree.  I hate finding things out about a book or movie before I've read or watched it.  I like to go in cold.  Fortunately I don't watch a lot of TV, but once Breaking Bad starts, y'all better cut that spoiling shit out.

It looks like the text of what he said, except glowing red, to me.  So like, bigger and more obvious than the non-reformatted text around it.

Like I said, fuck a spoiler warning. There are always at least a few people who can see it, no matter what you do, it seems.

Ha ha, really?  That's kind of awesome, and explains why the tag is actually called "glow"; I only ever see it as a chunk of color.  I like that for different people, it has EXACTLY the opposite effect.

I'm terrified by the implications of the phrase "sentient penis."
