I've never really gotten why there's so much hate for the Futurama movies.

I thought the
Futurama
movies were supposed to be bad? I've seen the first two now and I thought they were both pretty darned funny.
In other TV news, after catching up on the still-surprisingly-not-terrible
Make It Or Break It
, I'm starting on season four of
Friday Night Lights
. It's gonna be a teen sports soap double header tonight at my house!
Oh man, that finale.
No more Saracen or Riggins. And I'm oddly fine with that.
Just goes to show how good FNL is at A) writing in new characters, and, probably more importantly, B) CASTING.
Having just finished it, I think I'd rank the FNL seasons
1
3
4
.
.
.
.
2
only with many, many more line-breaks there, and I do think this season was nearly as good as S3. And really, either it or
Breaking Bad
will end up being the best show on television this season. Post when you've finished and we'll talk about it!

I can't believe after season 5 there will be no more. SLOWLY ALL MY FAVORITE SHOWS ARE GETTING CAST OFF THE ISLAND OF TV.

Seriously. There's a fair amount of decent junk food TV out these days, but nothing really amazingly good. Hopefully David Simon will bring it with
Treme

Yeah, it explains why I continue to watch the same Law & Order: SVU episodes over and over and over again.

And that's why I keep watching the USA White Collar, Psych, Burn Notice collection. They're all quirky/funny versions of Law & Order.

Oh hell yes. I don't care how crap the plot is, he could just stare at the camera with those blue eyes for an hour and I'd watch. Every time I watch that show, I think of the post on Put This On about how to wear a hat without looking like a dork.
Also, have I mentioned how awesome it is that Slings & Arrows not only follows a Shakespeare company but has multiple Shakespearean elements (i.e. ghost, chorus, etc.)? Yeah, seriously in love with that show.

I agree, though I think the first season of Look Around You, when it has the cheesy educational video approach, is about a thousand times funnier than the second season.

Yeah, although the second season is not without its particular merit. I love how the entire thing is done in the passive voice.

Oh, that was by you. Didn't notice. Not cranky enough, clearly.
I'sa bein' all patriotic and watching the NZ TV series Outrageous Fortune. About a family where the father goes to prison and then mother is all "right! We're not going to be criminals anymore", and how it works out and shit. I mean that sounds potentially just faffery on the level of Brothers and Sisters, but it's actually pretty okay. I would find the pilot but a) cbf and b) it's proving difficult because c) really cbf.

Interesting read - it looks like we like the show for different reasons, to some extent: I couldn't care less about most of the Juniper Creek wackiness, and about actually probably something like 80% of the subplots that are not directly related to Bill & the wives. Plus, I can't keep up with all that stuff - your recap link might help me a little bit on that, though. Wasn't too fond of the way the whole Ana thing was handled either.
It's really weird what's become of this show: I still watch it because it's mostly entertaining and it has between 2 and 5/6 really good minutes (of comedy, generally) per episode - well, and because I hate to give up on shows/books/records after I've started them. But it just feels like it's written by 27 hyperactive 12-year-olds now, with little attention to consistency or depth of character. It makes for entertaining moments, but it seems like most of it seems pretty much "hey, let's have the most exciting random thing happen now, because it's two minutes since anything dramatic happened".
Also, I've never warmed up to the new credits and I hate that they essentially replaced one of the best songs in the world with an admittedly more appropriate (not even sure about that) but really boring and terrible song.

Local ABC affiliate is preempting tonight's episode of Lost to 1:06 AM in favor of showing a completely inconsequential UNC basketball game (for those of you who don't follow college ball, we suck balls this year and even the die hard fans don't wanna watch the games). It's pretty much the most retarded thing imaginable, made worse because my shitty DVR freezes whenever I try to record something. But, hey, ABC is for adults, after all, so I guess I should be happy to let some dumbass station GM pick our bread and circuses for us.
On the plus side, the torrent of angry comments on the station's website are absolutely priceless

I can't tell you how happy I am that this is catching on. Now I need to invent a catchphrase for the CW...

My old roommate used to think it was really weird for me to be watching shows about teenagers and the chicks I thought were cute were always the people's moms, but you know, Mrs. Coach Tammy Taylor is pretty hot.

Man, if the reason for them being on the island is basically some ripoff of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, that's gonna be pretty dopey.
Better episode than last week, but I'm still alarmed at the incredibly clunky dialogue (was it always this bad?) and the fact I don't care about a single damn character

Okay, with this week's episode, Archer has crossed the line from funny to fucking hilarious.
