That sounds pretty good, but man, what a lot of interviews that is!
Seriously, FIVE interviews? That is some corporate craziness right there.

I know it ain't right for me to take such pleasure in making former financial people squirm during an interview for what amounts to a $10/hr position, but I really, really, really do.

Our new marketing director started on Wednesday. His new laptop just arrived so I put in his office, and I saw a basic HTML crib sheet on his desk, all typed out in Comic Sans, with "FOR FACEBOOK" scrawled across the top. I know someone else made it but I still chuckled. COMIC SANS! MARKETING! INTERNET!

Today I came to the realization that I don't really give a flyin fuck about my job any more, because I'll be leaving in four months. Feel kinda bad about that, but on the other hand I asked for a raise three times last month and each time was told "I'll think about it" so fuck you, Mr. Man!

holy hell was it ever a stupid idea to make major changes to one of my eight open spreadsheets when each is feeding information into a ninth and tenth spreadsheet.

Some days are all about tech stuff, some days are all about political battles, and some days are both, but rarely at the volume I'm experiencing today. Volume in terms of quantity, but also volume in terms of my colleague's loudness when he was yelling at me to cover his team's ineptitude in front of my boss.

Oh right, and I forgot about the business stuff. Lots of business stuff yesterday, leading up to a presentation this morning: I presented a bunch of stuff my team's been working on to my boss, and his boss, and her boss. HOME RUN, MOTHERFUCKERS. Everyone was impressed. So gangsta.

Hey so big structural/organizational changes taking place at work which means a new position opening up, which would be a definite raise and promotion, but also a LOT more responsibility and further solidify my position as "middle management" (shudder). I think I will probably go for it though. I like training, but after a while, it can get really, really boring. It's either this or more seriously start considering trying to find a job somewhere else, but otherwise, I'm as far up the ladder as I can get. (Oh god fucking kill me for even thinking about things this way fuck me goddammit)

Dude, I say go for it. Yeah, "middle management" can feel gross, but I'd totally want you as a manager as opposed to some nazi fuck.

Who's got 2 thumbs and is working on a non-emergency issue on a fucking Saturday?
This is not even what I
do
anymore, I don't go on-site and set up small business networks, but I guess I do if my bosses want to get some custom development work from the business. Oh well.

two good job things of note: I've been getting to use a lot of stamps lately. self-inking! ca-CHUNK! an excellent stress reliever. also, yesterday I got to hang out with New York's Strongest at a crumbling marine transfer station on a pier in the Hudson River. I love decrepit industrial infrastructure.

Received! Faxed! Approved! plus there are some big non-self inking ones that are pretty fun, like the official architect seals that get signed over and the submittal forms that you stamp on and then fill out. playing with stamps feels very old school, especially the ones with date-roller things on them.
