(with this, pretty sure I now have all of Billy Joel's studio LPs. beat that, Ignatius! (I know you can't have the classical album . . . ?)

Let's see: I don't have that one, Storm Front, River of Dreams or the classical one. But I do have the live Songs from the Attic and КОНЦЕРТ. Do I at least get third prize?

ooh, you know, I never bothered with КОНЦЕРТ. guess that means we'll have to settle this by seeing who can actually listen all the way through to

I know I have tried and failed.

saturday i picked up the reissues of _Anodyne_ and _Being There_ and the Shrinebuilder 2x12".

the 1st two sound amazing.  the last one is a bit muddy.  looks garishly awesome in the splatter/black vinyl though.

Stuff I bought with the gift certificate Eric and Jojo gave me:

Converge - Axe To Fall

American Music Club - 1984-1995

Jemina Pearl - Break It Up

The Flaming Lips - Embryonic

It's pretty much just me buying albums I liked enough when I downloaded them to want to own them. I miss the days when record shopping gave me the thrill of discovery. Won't get that back til I can actually afford to record-shop on my own dime, though.

my pops got himself that ridiculous miles davis box set for xmas this year... except it had a manufacturing defect whereby the glue to some of the jackets was prone to becoming unglued. i dunno, it didn't look too bad to me when i saw his copy over the holidays.

anyhow they sent him another one due to the problem, and i have scored the defected one as a freebie.

i enjoy me some miles but i think it's gonna take years to get through 71 discs of material. that's a good problem to have though  Razz

Benmont Tench - will be interested to hear about that Beach House!

I've only listened to it once, but my initial impression is that it's quite promising. Nothing is quite as good as "Norway", but I can already tell I like it more than the first album (my only Beach House reference point, as I passed over the second album.)

Beach House - Teen Dream

Got this as well yesterday. My impression was actually that "Norway", even if it's alright, was the weakest track on the first side, and I didn't really get around to listening to the second half yet. The song "Zebra" is just about perfect, though.

Also received this:

I like how I have to focus really hard for the beach house cover to be more than a blank spot on the internet.

Yesterday & today:

Charlotte Gainsbourg - IRM

Antenna - Sway

Lifter Puller - Fiestas & Fiascos (Deluxe Reissue)

The latter of which I bought digitally from Amazon after amassing enough MP3 Credit to pay for it. Actually paying for MP3s is still pretty unseemly to me.

I was pretty close to buying the Charlotte Gainsbourg album at Best Buy today, but I figured if it was only $11 at Best Buy now, it will probably be $5 at Amazon in a few weeks.
