It's good for collaborating on group projects at school except it gets very slow and you have start like 5 or 6 new threads to get through a two week project because after 40 or 50 posts it crawls, man.

It was more supposed to be taking the place of Gmail... but it is slow.  Email is fast.

I can read/write email on my phone.  I can hardly run Wave on my desktop computer.


Wave offers, potentially, more options for communication, more ability to play with what you have.  But it is slow and buggy so it is difficult to do much on a large scale.

I think it's more supposed to take the place of message boards. Or, maybe more to the point, blog comment threads.

That sounds just as reasonable, if we're going to try and compare it to existing items.

And I was just gonna come in here and say that it is sort of like being able to create your own private (or not) message boards where everybody can edit everybody else's posts.



But really I have found it is best for some expansive form of chat.  Oh, I want to show you this picture?  I will drag it from my desktop into the blip we are both/all typing in.  Oh, you don't speak the same language I do?  I will add in this bot to translate for us.  Oh, we want to find something on a map, let's put a Google Maps here.  Oh, we want to see who can draw Batman with his dick out faster?  Let's bring in a whiteboard and we can race.

Yeah, it mostly lets you create makeshift forums for whatever. Basically, if you're doing work on Google Docs, you'd still do that on Google Docs, but you'd manage the conversation about it, who does what, all that extra stuff &c., on Wave.

I'd get on the Wave bandwagon, but I know anyone I could possibly work with on it is too technically inept to make it work.

(Ok, it was not actual Batman, just a guy who walked around 6 Flags dressed as Batman for a job.  But it's awesome to be able to tell people I hooked up with Batman.)
