coldbeforesunrise: You should probably do some train-your-memory exercises once in a while! You have shot "this guy" a quick message before, which I wager is the reason you now find yourself blocked.

Oh! Was that the guy I threatened to kill (joking!) that one time? Only vaguely remember but I swear it was all in admittedly bad humour. COME ON, MR. INK, UN-UNFRIEND ME! I'm good people. Usually.

Anyway, since this thread is titled after being annoyed with cops I've got to say that the past week of dropped calls and weird interference has made me wonder if it has anything to do with this surveillance balloon they have over the village, which apparently has facial profiling technology capable of tagging anybody within 50km:

A billion dollars in security that could be fouled easily enough with glasses and a rubber nose, which can be found for like, $2.

I'd be willing to bet that Finn will love it! I also agree that the quiet volume is probably a good thing.

Not being able to dance with her mp3 player sounds like a major disadvantage, though, Nick Ink.

Indeed. Although as a testament to the indefatigability of youth, she has developed a number of dance moves that involve a 'hands-to-ears' component.

Your posts about your daughters always make me smile! Heart

Hey thanks - you're sweet.

Nick, can't you replace the earbuds that always fall out with a different set, probably headphones rather than buds? Or is it somehow all in one piece?

Yes, I should have done it before now really, but she doesn't use them all that often. But yep, you're right, I need to get a little pair of headphones for it. Thanks for cranking my brain handle.

Christfuck man, tMO's shitball Kia Spectra broke down last night.  Got it to a garage today: $500 in parts/labor for an alternator and some belts.  I'm getting fucked with my pants on over this.

dude an alternator isn't that big a deal to do yourself, and the labor of replacing an alternator pretty much includes replacing the belts, or at least removing and reinstalling them.  I've replaced alternators.  Have you checked w/ Advance Auto or Autozone or some shit on the price of the parts?  I bet you could get it done yourself waaaaay cheaper than that.  Even if you're not that handy yourself, do you have a buddy with a garage and tools? who likes beer? for whom you could buy beer for assistance with said task?

Unfortunately, the one auto mechanic I might have made friends with got pissed off at our ex-guitarist while auditioning to be our drummer and now isn't speaking to any of us.  I ain't know anyone with an engine-hoist apart from him.

Apart from that, the main problem is I ain't got time to make this a weekend project kinda thing.  The lady and I both pretty much gotta have functioning cars to get around this fucking city and do our jobs.  So I'm paying partly for the convenience (rueful laugh) of getting it done by tomorrow morning.  I really wish we could have afforded a tow to the other side of the perimeter to get it to a garage I trust that closer to home, but that wasn't in the cards either.

so, no harm no foul, since I just happen to still be up at 3am anyway, but dear neighbor, do you really have to pound things with a fucking hammer right now? like, could hanging that picture or having that psychotic smash-things breakdown that's maybe more likely just not wait until morning?

well, whatever, when I wake up I'm blasting some obnoxious punk music in the hopes that you're still sleeping, just on principle. tonight's annoying neighbor, tomorrow's ashes.

I got a deal at $800 for replacing my water pump.  It's like a $40 part or some shit, but they have to take apart the whole damn engine to replace it.  The first place I went said it would be like $1200, but that's only $300 less than I paid for the car!

GODFUCKING CHRIST.

Okay, big apology to a lot of you--my Gmail, Yahoo and Facebook accounts have been hacked.  If you got email from me, no, tMO and I haven't been robbed in London.  I'm trying to right the situation now, but FUCK.  I've gotten three phone calls this morning from concerned friends and relatives.  I'm expecting more.

Goddamnit--I had so much shit in my Gmail account that I need.  CHANGE YOUR PASSWORDS, PEOPLE.

I just got that, and my reactions were:

1)  Shit!  I didn't even know Maaik was IN London!  When did he decide to go on vacation?

2)  Wait, the hotel won't "let" him leave unless he pays them $1250?  What's preventing him from just strolling on out, AMERICAN STYLE?

3)  Wait, I didn't even know Maaik was IN London.  SMELLS LIKE A HACK

4)  (checks Twitter)  AW YEAH

I was not fooled!! It was because I knew Myke uses spaces when he writes, and because I've never heard him refer to tMO as 'Melissa'.

GODFUCKING CHRIST.

I knew that shit was fake immediately, but then I had a good time picking out why it was fake.  My favorite was "robbed at gunpoint" - nobody has any guns in London, duh.

My god, you wouldn't believe the number of phone calls I've gotten this morning.  Shit is crazy.  Though it is reassuring to know that people care.  I'm like Michael Douglass at the end of The Game, all covered in breakaway glass, drinking champagne with my brother.

I attributed lack of spaces to panic and haste. As I was telling Myke on the phone this morning, the thought that came to me after a few seconds of ZOMG was "Hey, wait a second. They just had to get their car fixed."

Hey man, at least you weren't robbed at gunpoint and being held against your will in a British hotel.

After years of wearing braces my family couldn't really afford and having teeth out (six at once!) to make my teeth straight, my back molars are all extremely crooked, leading to occasional dull pain in my lower jaw (this has something to do with what I assume to be bruxism, what with waking up with my jaw all sore every now and then).

I am also bruxist, which sometimes makes me wonder if I'm more anxious than I think.
