Morning annoyances:
camera won't rewind
cluster of outlets in the most inconvenient area and none elsewhere
nursing supplements smell funky

Velvet is hard to sew.
These tapes are not labeled and why can't anybody fill out a camera report.
Can't stop procrastinating.

I feel your pain on the tapes. I've been logging a bunch of my own shit lately and kicking myself for not taking better notes.

I know how tempting it is to use progressively more cryptic shorthand, but you'll forget what you meant for sure. I take extremely detailed notes and it's one of those things where you never get thanked for doing well, but will get cursed for sure if you screw up. Anyway, good luck with it all!

I empathize. I have lots of little scratches that don't hurt, but they itch annoyingly. oh, except the one on my knuckle--that one kind of hurts.

"we'll have a delayed opening and our meeting will start at 10"
Township didn't bother to plow my street until 10:15, so I couldn't even leave until 11 from having to dig out the three-foot berm
Then when I left I discovered they didn't bother to plow the other two streets (which are major compared to the one I live on!) that I use on my way to 95
Then I found out that 95 was 40% FIELDS OF ICY TERROR
In conclusion, fuck you township I live in. Get your snow removal shit together.

Cops are one of the few things that bother me. They cause more disturbances than they resolve and have a strong tendency to get on my nerves.

You don't have a billion dollars worth of cops in town for a sporting event, it's ridiculous. A couple guys my friend knows were boarding backcountry the other day when they were greeted with drawn guns, for hours of questioning. I've got to be at the VANOC shuttle by 7am to make it through security in time for a 10am event. Fuckers...

I have mixed feelings about cops. On one hand, their job is to put their lives in danger every day. Every time they pull someone over they could be killed. On the other hand, they recently pulled over one of my neighbors and shot him 4 times before discovering he didn't have a gun.

Yeah, on one hand, I've come across a few decent cops in my time. On the other, it was cops who beat my neighbor unconscious and let him OD in the back of their car because they thought it was better to take him to the clink than the hospital. It was also cops who pulled me over and searched me and my car without my consent for no reason.

Oh I'm sure they did. Ironically, both times I was completely sober and on my way to the store for booze. After shuffling through the 18 pounds of trash in my car and finding nothing while I was locked in the back of the squad car and blowing 0.0 on the breathalyzer, I laughed in their faces and remarked at how many actually drunk people they could have caught while they were fucking around with me. But hey, maybe that's why Omaha is so far down on the list of drunk cities. Too much time spent pulling over law-abiding citizens.

It's amazing I've never seen a check-stop in the States, but then again I was delighted/appalled to find booze in gas stations. Here up Northerly you have random sites where the police stop every car to sniff around and they can have you towed based on suspicion alone.

They do that here, it's just usually during the usual drinking holidays. 4th of July, Superbowl, etc.

ARGGHGHGH*&%^%$&*(
The Lego mp3 player my mom got for Finn, and which I've been tasked with charging and filling up with songs IS A PIECE OF FUCKING SHIT, LIKE EVEN WORSE THAN YOU WOULD EXPECT. I finally got some albums on it, but they got all out of order, and when I tried to play a song, the volume at it's highest level was barely on the softer side of my own normal listening volume.
The controls in particular are for shit. I'll probably end up letting him use my old iPod. It's bigger, easier to use, holds more songs, sounds better, and has pictures.
Damn it.

Am I the only person who sees the value in deleting? Some people should use the delete button more often, like when they make an outburst and then realize it sounds as though they think the world should be catering to their whims (which is silly).

I got my daughter an mp3 player this Xmas too. It does definitely have a much quieter volume, but to be honest I'm pretty happy about that. Is yours really too quiet to enjoy, do you think?
Also, it looks really great if you're a 7-year old girl but has no screen or anything, so the songs just play in the order you put them, and she skips through to find the ones she wants. She's not really into 'albums' much yet though. It's more like a bit of Fiery Furnaces here, a bit of ABBA there, a bit of Babes In Toyland, then maybe a McFly track - we're at that stage. Does yours have an interface on it, like you're meant to be able to choose albums, but it isn't working properly?
Just to be clear, before someone makes a joke, that kid is from an Early Learning Centre Ad, she's not my daughter.
edit: oh yes, the thing that is really annoying about them is the earphones, which fall out very easily - I think it's a design thing, rather than a size issue - it's okay if she stays still, but she can't dance while she's listening to the thing.

Yeah, I'm kind of wondering if that isn't an awkwardly-implemented feature to keep the kids from getting iPod-related deafness?
