I have a friend who was going to go with her fiance and then they split up so she has a free plane trip down there. I think she might have already gone but I'll shoot her an email and see.

Does anyone want to go to Costa Rica from 10 September - 14 September?  I have a hotel room that I paid for in advance booked and it doesn't look like I'm going to use it, so will sell it cheap.

omg September 10 is my bday that would be the most badass 26th birthday ever.  But let's be real I don't think any of my friends would be able to come with me and a bday without friends is no bday.

So uh.  I might be coming into ownership of an electric violin this weekend.

nb I do not play violin, and have in the past found holding a violin properly difficult.  But at very least, should I find that I am absolute crap at playing the violin, I can take that shit apart and make some suitably fucked-up instrument out of it.

Oh man, I love electric violins.

I saw Mary Timony open for Pavement once--she was on electric guitar and was accompanied by a woman playing electric violin. They were playing Helium songs, and it was AWESOME. Made me a Helium fan for life.

And also, an electric violin fan for life.

Also, holding a violin incorrectly is terrible for your neck and shoulders if you're not trained properly. The last couple times I dicked around on a violin, it was my friend's 200 year old strad copy and my neck and shoulder were tensed up all to hell out of fear I'd drop the thing (even though it's only worth a couple grand).

Yeah, my lady plays the violin, and my mind was fucking blown when she showed me how you're actually supposed to hold one.

I got my awesome front row center tickets for the SYTYCD show.  They were actually quite affordable!  I'm taking my room mate Darcy, and she knows we're going, but I'm going to keep the location of the seats a surprise.  So excited!

So You Think You Can Dance.  Darcy and I both were dancers for about 15 years, so we get really excited about that show.  Really, really excited.  I'm most excited to see Billy Bell who is one of the most amazing dancers I have ever seen, but we've been talking about going for a few years now and WE FINALLY ARE.

This year it really was.  The injuries were insane.  Two people got taken out completely by injuries (one of them is still on crutches), and two had to sit out for an episode.  If I'm not mistaken, that's more problems due to injury than every other season combined!

Had a crazy fun night running around ATL last night.  Went to the Masquerade, ran over to the Star Bar, back to the Masquerade (for an excellent Mice in Cars show) then went to the lamest after-party EVER.  Then crashed back at Myke's place.  Fun times were had (at all times that were not the after-party).

Good news. After being able to play 2 full baseball games today, I feel confident that my injuries from the bicycle accident are not serious.
