Davy, that's not real! That's just something out of my nightmares.

I assure you that they are real.

They are the reason I cannot presently use my back door, and because I park behind my building, this is an inconvenience.

Is that your hand? Get it off!

God I'm glad I live in New Zealand. We get wetas, but not in huge swarms and they're harmless, and that's probably about it for gross things. Except Peter Jackson.

No, not my hand!  Shocked

Whoever that is has probably not heard about the flesh-dissolving enzyme.

I think tiny spiders are breeding in my mattress. This is less annoying than giant hornets. Have you seen that video of giant hornets taking down a bee hive? Or maybe it was regular sized hornets.. Either way, shit was brutal.

We had to remove about six yellowjacket nests from our shed so this guy could dismantle and remove it recently.. It was not awesome.

I think I am actually more comfortable with the hornets outside my apartment than I would be with tiny spiders breeding inside my mattress.

They're tiny enough that they can't bite, so I'm trying to not be concerned. I only see one at a time, though, so I guess they're probably hatching somewhere else and coming in. PS what is sleep?

i think so. hope you get some sleep.

I have some low level gastro that interfered with my rest last night. I hope it's fucked off enough tonight to let me sleep...

My apartment is a wreck and Japanese giant hornets are patrolling the sidewalk.

This is the largest species of hornet in the world. Its venom contains an enzyme capable of dissolving human flesh. Nice.
Are you serious?  Are those things in this state?!  Have I mentioned my already paralyzing fear of bees, wasps, hornets, and anything that even vaguely resembles them?!  Jesus christ, I used to like Athens.  Now I can never go there again.  I'll miss The Grit.

I ate at The Grit tonight!

(It is Japanese giant hornet-free.)

And you clearly went there via your front door. I showed the pic to the bloke (who has a pathological fear of stinging insects) but he was surprisingly blase about it. I suspect he thinks it's not real, or he's drunker than I thought...

I'd post more pictures, but really, you can just do a google image search for "japanese giant hornet." They're all pretty terrifying.

just suggest to them that they get one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Weber-87886-Chimney-Starter/dp/B00004U9VV and they'll never have to use lighter fluid again.  And their grilled food will stop tasting like shit-ass chemicals.

Yeah I don't grill that much, but when I do, these things are essential.  Makes the whole process waaaayyy easier.

yeah, they work better, too. if I could afford it, I would buy them for everyone in this neighborhood--summer weekends the whole neighborhood stinks.

Yeah, I feel the same way about those giant hornets.  I'm gonna train me some and have them hover around me at all times.  THEN I'M GONNA SETTLE SOME OLD SCORES.

I once commanded a bee to sting another boy in sixth grade and it did. I felt really bad. Later I would use my powers for good and command bees to leave the classroom whenever they came in through the window. I can solve your problems, davy, for a fee.

Please tell me there is some kind of organized program to try to eradicate those things.
