Not my pet, but the lady
found this on etsy
the other day, and thinks coldforge should buy this collar for Bowler Cat.

That collar is not appropriate for either of my cats. Bowler Cat is a lithe huntress with preternatural patience—in the sense that she will happily spend a whole day climbing onto the counter, getting taken down, and immediately climbing back up—and Potato is a braindamaged gimp. Maybe with time.

You should get Potato a collar with Grimace's head on it!

Very worried about two sweet little dog that are apparently living in the park where a friend's film shoot was taking place. We chased off some nasty little jerks who were swinging at them with baseball bats and skateboards. Am wondering if I can sponsor their care at a no-kill shelter until our living arrangement changes and I can adopt them.
Guh, I am not even a big animal lover.

Cat-grampa is out of town for the next day or two and the kitties are very distraught that they won't be getting treats 4 times a day while he's gone.

Name this dog, guys! Also, it is female.
Based on that picture I considered 'Lolwut'. We just got her this afternoon. She's a border collie flat-coated retriever cross and is rather a sweetheart.

You should do what my family does.
When I was 4 my cousins gave my grandmother a dog. My grandfather's best friend's name was Fred. My grandmother named the dog Fred. The dog is a girl. It died recently, but for years we refered to this shaggy black lab / newfoundland dog that drooled and peed everywhere as "Darling Fred". ... I always got sort of a vibe that my grandmother once had a thing for the real Fred or the real Fred had a thing for her and its weird now because he's like 80 and dating her cousin. Anyway, the point is, she named it Fred without actually admitting she was naming it after the real Fred.
Then I got my cat. She's a saucy barncat, that we got in Cartyville where only about 6 people live. My mother insisted that we name it Lola. My great aunt's name is Lola, she's one of the 6 people that live in Cartyville.
For years my aunt Kathy had a dog named Riley. He was a black lab, and he was fat, and lazy, and had this HUGE head and was a pretty important part of my childhood. My cousin just had a baby. And she named it Riley.
There was also a dog named Samuel that was named after my great great grandfather but that was less weird because he was already dead, and it was admitted.
So like. ...you should name it something that's already in your family. Like Grace. And then deny it to the point where everyone feels awkward talking about the connection but everyone
knows.

Friend named pup AV after Aunt Violet who was some promiscuous lady their grandpa liked to talk about on the verge of death. So I guess I'm with Ashley.

A fine-looking dog, there. Ashley's recommendation is good. Gotta admit, though, it was pretty uncomfortable when my dad tried to give his new dog the same name as my girlfriend at the time. She didn't take it as a compliment.
I tend to give the dog several options and see which one it likes best. It may sound silly, but they really do seem to have preferences. This process has given me Zeke, Wallace, and Grady so far. I'm OK with that.

Well I had heard nothing first hand about my dad and stepmother wanting a dog, thinking about getting a dog, or actually getting one until an hour ago, when Dad texted to say "We have a black dog from the pound called Valerie. Come over tomorrow and meet her!" So I guess its Valerie.

Yes it's Valerie, which is the name Rose wanted in the first place. I'm still adjusting to calling her Valerie rather than "hey, you dog/sweet-face". She's marvellous, though. Although Rose doesn't like Maxwell's Silver Hammer she's stoked about the line "Rose and Valerie screaming from the gallery"

Yup! Those are the three fosters I've got, though one of them (super fuzzy blue-eyed menace in the middle who looks quite a bit like Wriothesley) is going to be converted to a full-time member of the household.
Someone's coming to meet the girls today, so hopefully they'll have a home soon!
