Fucking prick in a gigantic pickup truck tried forcing me into a parked car this morning.
Did not read thread title. Thought jeb had new boyfriend, or maybe second job as midnight cowboy. The end.

Sucks, Jeb. I have been having some very bad experiences with drivers lately, as well. Maybe we need to get together and make up some kind of superhero bicycle backlash?

Wow, Jim is grumpy...
I've been thinking about getting my bike out of the shed, along with the trailer with a seat that I have, and trundling around with Erik. Just thinking, mind you.

If I had a way to bike around with Finn that didn't worry me to death, I'd do it ALL THE TIME.

When my brother was a toddler, he fell off the seat in back of my dad's bike and knocked his head on the Bronx River Parkway. But he turned out ok!

Fucking prick in a gigantic pickup truck tried forcing me into a parked car this morning. Like, not just didn't know how to share the road, but was actually trying to fuck with me. He was laughing. I called him a motherfucker and really wanted to throw my u-lock through his window. Then when I was done with work I had a flat tire. I'm going to somehow blame it on that jagoff.
That's some bullshit for sure. My buddy Jerod tends to be somewhat aggressive in times like these, whether it's someone being purposely dickheaded, or someone just not paying attention, he'll do things like slap the side of the car, not enough to do any sort of damage, but more to try to wake them the fuck up.

In other news, RAGBRAI is next week, and for the 2nd year in a row a group of friends and I are participating. The route is quite a bit flatter this year, which will be nice. We start in Sioux City Sunday morning, traverse the entire state of Iowa in 7 days, and make jokes the whole way through. We've got a few more than last year, and oddmakers have set the over/under for number of beers drank by our team over the course of the week at 680, and the over/under for number of handles of Jim Beam consumed at 8.5. They didn't even bother trying to figure the number of porkchops on a stick consumed...

I remember RAGBRAI going through every year. Say hi to Dubuque for me. Tell it I'm sorry I haven't visited in so long.

Will do! That's the ending town this year. There are casinos there, right?

There's at least one. It used to be on a boat, but I think it's not anymore.

Didn't the guy who made this one end up doing a Threadless t-shirt design on the basis of it or something? I vaguely recall such a thing. I also vaguely recall that he later realised that his bike wasn't even stolen at all; it was just removed by authorities from a place where it wasn't supposed to be parked.
edit: Yep, here it is, still in print even:

Currently happening:
Riverwest 24
, a 24-hour bike race in my neighbourhood (also Jeb's!). Very exciting!!! I think I'm going to go for a little ride along the route and see what's goin' on.

Yep! I rode it one time, and it was really fun! I did feel a little guilty, though, 'cause everyone was all, "yeah, you can do it!" when I'd only gone a mile or two.

24 hour rides are great. My sister has done
this one
a couple of times in a team. I'm not up for that kind of thing anymore though :-(
