Tapatalk enabled

My friends,
This evening Lalitree has been so gracious as to enable support for Tapatalk on the LPTJ forums. Tapatalk is a mobile app—iPhone, Android, Blackberry—that provides a direct interface to any web forum that's got it enabled. It's pretty impressive. It's got it's own all-unread-threads interface, it plugs into the profiles and the messaging system. The app itself costs $3.
If you want to add LPTJ, just search for it in the app. I searched for 'jakarta' and it came right up.
Many thanks to Lalitree for setting this up.

Posting from TapTalk now. Pretty neat! This is the first time I've really wished for avatars on this forum.

You can set Tapatalk not to display avatars, if it helps.

Just did. Also just realized the app is called Tapatalk, which is pretty dumb. Much prefer TapTalk.

I like the name Tapatalk! I imagine Michael Caine saying it.

Ever since I read this yesterday, it's been periodically playing in my head.

Ayo, so Tapatalk gets angry at me any time I try to post in a thread that I've created. Is this a problem anyone else has experienced?

My guess would be it's because, despite my earlier enthusiasm in this thread, Tapatalk kind of, as they say, blowjes the old ween.

I find the UI significantly easier than going in through the browser what with having to resize to navigate, etc.
I occasionally have problems posting, too but I guess I don't do it enough for it to bother me and the cut/Open In Browser work around handles it.

Yeah. But like mmc says, the interface makes reading infinitely easier. But posting is always a crapshoot. Will I spend ten minutes typing out a post on my phone only to have Tapatalk refuse to post what I typed out, with no way to save a draft? It's anyone's guess!

Yep! That's why I stopped using it. The presentation is arguably better than on the cramped screen of your phone, but if all it does well is reading, that's not really worth using. Certainly not worth $3. Disappointed to hear that there are still a lot of functionality problems, because I could see firing it up again if things had been improved.

The thing I find most mindboggling is that, unlike nearly 100% of the other technical issues I've had, googling brings up approximately zero helpful information. People are having the problem, sure, but it's always assumed to be related to the forum software, where this is clearly not.

On my phone Opera does a pretty nice job of presenting everything laid out nicely, then I can zoom in on a post and it reformats the text to the width of my screen. I've never tried this tappitytapa thing but it sounds like a pain in the ass

And OK, I wouldn't mind the broken Tapatalk functionality as much if, when I used my phone browser to post something, there wasn't a popup telling me the board is Tapatalk-enabled.

Miren browser does the same. I don't mind too much.
