I generally keep a bottle of Bushmills around for adulterating coffee when the mood strikes me.
Man if you can lay hands on the Foudner's Backwoods Bastard, grab it up. It's their oaked scotch/wee heavy and it's *phenomenal.*
I'll keep an eye out. I have some Founder's Dirty Bastard in the fridge, and at 8.2 percent it's a shit kicker. A lovely winter taste.

Finally get a nearly perfect, sediment-free cup out of the Kone today. All in the pour, baby.

My aeropress makes me care a lot more about how my coffee tastes. I really like it a lot. You could even say I'm...aero-impressed.
Also I still really want one of these.

Sometimes I just want to go to sleep as soon as possible so I can wake up and drink coffee again.
That said, ever since a friend broke my coffee press I've just been throwing the grounds in a mug with hot water. works pretty well.

camp style. a newspaper owner i worked for in high school used to insist on serving his guests coffee this way, said he learned to do so in denmark and wouldn't make it any other way.
also: earthworms are crazy about coffee. apparently they will tunnel up to a mile for it, plus it acidifies the soil, so good coffee shops (including starbucks) keep their espresso grounds for gardeners. there was a tin of nabob taking up space i bought out of desperation one night at 7-11 that i wouldn't be caught dead serving so this afternoon i shook it over my freshly planted bulbs, for happy flowers come spring.

Finally talked Danielle into drinking a cup I made without any adulterant whatsoever! She resisted at first, took a sip and said "Damn. That's actually really complex"

Drinking a cup of this right now:
http://my.counterculturecoffee.com/coffee/baroida.html
It's crazy, crazy good. One of the most complex non-Kenya coffees I've ever had. *Insanely* spicy; when I took a big whiff of the fresh grounds it was almost like it burned my nose. Really juicy, full-bodied cup, and the dark fruit they describe really does come through nicely.
