I mean, yeah.  Isn't it always?  But you can't say that tie wouldn't be better with like a light glen plaid or something.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/J-Shoes-Estate-Dark-Brown-Leather-Mens-Boots-/190578928254?pt=UK_Men_s_Shoes&var=&hash=item7217fc3dbc#ht_1110wt_1396

Thinking about pulling the trigger. $66!

I could make those work with business casual, I think.

The only problem is sizing. A UK 7 is a US 8, but I'm usually an 8.5. Boots do tend to run a little roomier, though...

gosh davy, why not stop it with the nonsense and buy a decent pair of shoes? you posted photos of about a dozen pairs that weren't anything special so i've got to say it, just drop the coin for some classics and forget about it.

recently picked up a couple great work shirts from levi's (sorry to the talented american seamstresses that indonesian children put out of business) and the dirtbags gave me a couple codes for 10% i probably won't use. if anybody is interested, they are yours for taking: ANF12L and CTPK11R

That tie's kind of interesting, but it's definitely a poor match for a navy pinstripe - I'd say it calls for a lighter/more textured grey.

Definitely true.  The tie is the most beautiful article of clothing I own.  I would wear it with a black or grey suit with a plain white dress shirt.

hey you guys:
does anyone know how long shoelaces for Doc Martens (shoes, not boots, 4 eyelets on each side) should be? One of mine broke this morning and I tried to look up the answer to this question on the internet but all the sites it directed me to were like DOC MARTENS ON SALE 4 XMAS ALSO WITH SHOELACES and bitches, I need to go to Payless.

If you go to any shoe repair place they can just eyeball it for you, or count the eylets, I'm sure.

yeah, it's just I'm kind of crunched for time --  the shoe repair place near work closed and I have no time after work to find a shoe repair place before I need to be fabulous* tonight, so I just wanted to run to Payless or somewhere within walking distance of work and grab any old shoelace that fits.

*I am fully aware that "fabulous" and "wearing Doc Marten shoes" are mutually exclusive terms

Can't you just buy a long one and then cut it to size if it's too long?

Yes, I can. My concern was that I woulda bought one that was too short, so to cover my bases at Payless (I just went, damn the torpedoes or whatever) I bought one 36 inch and one 54 inch.

Aren't shoelaces sold in packages stating the number of eyelets they'd be ideal for?

Find a shoe store that carries Dr Martens and swipe one shoelace from a floor sample
