Man, fucking great.  So far, so good, got the important things about those scenes across without getting bogged down with too much exposition.  Is that scraggly guy next to Jon at both the archery thing and the beheading supposed to be Robb?  Or Theon?

I wasn't too keen on the first couple episodes of series 5 of Skins, but I watched Minnie's episode tonight and it was really good.

I desperately need something new to watch. Justified has gotten terrible, Top Chef is over, the NBC stuff is full of bye weeks and stagnation. The 60-90min of daily leisure entertainment I get right now is comprised almost entirely of pre-season 12 Simpsons episodes which, great, sure, but I can barely bring myself to watch most of these again. I can literally recite ~75% of them line-for-line, I'm sure.

Justified has gotten terrible

I'm sad about this, as I had pencilled it in as an option, probably on your good word? Somebody's here, anyway.

I've been big-upping Being Human recently. It's pretty good if you like vampires.Sadly, it's weakest episodes are, like episodes 2-4 of the first series (they're not bad, exactly, but they're not interesting, either), but if you try the pilot and like it, that's the tone of most of the show.

(Note that I guess there's some American remake starting up and I am not talking about that).

House of Cards, the witty British political drama series.
Apocalypse, the beautifully colorized French documentary series about WWII.
Klovn, the hilarious Curb-esque Danish comedy series.

Just some stuff I like.

Quote
In a recent New Yorker profile of Martin, whose books have been turned into an HBO show, Laura Miller quotes the author's explanation of his sincere disappointment with the series finale of Lost. "We watched it every week trying to figure it out, and as it got deeper and deeper I kept saying, 'They better have something good in mind for the end. This better pay off here.' And then I felt so cheated when we got to the conclusion." Martin also cites the Lost ending as the type of mistake he fears making with his own show, saying, "I want to give them something terrific. What if I fuck it up at the end? What if I do a Lost? Then they'll come after me with pitchforks and torches."

Return Volley: Like many spatters before him, an offended Lindelof took to Twitter after reading Martin's harsh Lost comments. "George RR Martin is terrified of 'pulling a LOST' by ending Game of Thrones shittily. In related news, my therapist just hit the jackpot," he first joked, then provided followers with a link to the New Yorker profile. Several followers attempted to reassure Lindelof with comments such as, "Don't worry, you are the master...Martin sucks! You win!" And, "I'm a fan of George R.R. Martin but he's wrong. I am 100% happy with the LOST finale. I'm waiting on the Zombie 7th season." To this, Lindelof replied, "Thank you tweeps. In five minutes you have made me feel better. But George? You got yourself a feud, motherfucker." Followed by, "Winter IS coming, bitch" (a reference to Game of Thrones) and "Not to mention, he agreed to say nice things if I sent him Mr. Friendly's beard, which i did." And, most recently, "I've just been informed George is working on his feud response. I'll have it in FIVE YEARS!"

There doesn't seem to be any Klovn with English subtitles on the internet. Language barriers don't affect this clip at least. The concept and style is similar to Curb but it has blacker humor that touches on taboos like cannibalism, pedophilia, the disabled, rape and stoma. So funny.

BH is pretty alright, and gets better around the 2nd season, but sort of falters around 3... is it 4 already? Yeah... pretty badass

I liked it, but I didn't get why they made the Others so fast -- the great part of the first scene of that book, is how smiley death the Others are, swords rising and falling against the young, arrogant knight who quickly learns he's not the big shit he thought he was. In this, it's more like... bam! ... BAM, head fly. It loses the whole element where you sorta forgive the arrogant knight...and all, for his brashness, when you see he's got some COURAGE

Where are you at in Justified, pollo?  I've been seeing "Best Drama on TV" tossed around recently, especially in the wake of tomorrow's (4/6) episode.

Also you should watch The Vampire Diaries

xpost, yeah, J-dawg, I feel you, but that's exactly the sort of detail they need to not get bogged-down in if they're to tell the story effectively in 10 hours.  They'll have plenty of time to fuck wit The Others in... Season 3?  I was thinking about that today.  There's an Other in the cold open to the series, but when is the next time you'd actually see another?  The Jon Snow stuff in S3/SoS, right?  Maybe briefly in that scene in S2/CoK where Jon saves the Old Bear?

Yeah... but it was sure-hell-alotta awesome the way GRM wrote it compared to ...the filmin of it. I liked it anyway of course, though I wasn't sure how the guy in the promo was vs the young kid in the book... I thought it was a bit hilarous. I still love.

Finally got up the nerve to watch it. Nearly got choked up with excitement. Milly makes good points, but what was there was awesome. So far, the kids seem to be holding their own, Bean is every inch the part, The Wall is bad ass, etc etc.

Here are the television programs I currently watch on a weekly basis, only one of which I can imagine Miles enjoying (because he already does):

Castle
The Good Wife
Parenthood
Parks & Recreation

Sigh.

Yeah, Justified is actually the only thing I'd really think of as up-pollo's-alley on right now.  Game of Thrones will be here soon, though, and there is The Killing, which I'm sort of ambivalent about, but could turn out pretty great.

I've been doing a lot of hand sewing, which is most comfortable in the recliner downstairs, so I have been watching way too much TV. I like stupid things I don't have to pay that much attention to.
Sunday: Nature, Masterpiece, DVRing Firefly
Monday: Adventure Time, Top Gear
Tuesday: I'll watch but am not actively following The Biggest Loser and Parenthood
Thursday: the NBC pile-on

Also: Jeopardy, Planet Earth/Blue Planet/Life reruns, Antiques Roadshow reruns.
I just re-signed up for the streaming-only Netflix thing, and plan on rewatching all of the X-Files. Bill is using it to watch all the available Mitchell & Webb stuff.
