wow, didn't know domination looked like that on lp.

Yah, it's crazy ugly.  I now have two copies of it, both an original pressing and this re-release and they both have the same cover.

That awesomeness of that High Spirits album does not stop with it's cover.  The songs are outrageous and catchy and rule XTRA hard.

it is much less ugly than the cd cover.

a dubious achievement.

Yeah, hella ugly. Wonder if it has anything to do with this notorious likening of humanity to slime molds. It was made by anthropologist Loren Eiseley in his 1971 book The Invisible Pyramid, which is rad & smart & and never once mentions Ancient Aliens.

As to the pentagram, is that inverted cross in the middle a morbid angel thing? haven't seen it before.

Now that I have a new record shopping bud I have been spending too much $$ on records!

-Beach boys- surfs up (suprisingly metal cover! I had seen it before but it's still really cool. It's such a weird album, I love it)
-Pearl bailey- (Bf thinks it might be some sort of bootleg because he couldn't find the album in her discog and the tracks on the album don't match what is listed on the cover, and the label on the record looks home made. Pretty cool.)
-Pretenders- learning to crawl (I've been singing back on the chain gang every day for a few weeks, I needed this)
-Boz scaggs- Slow dancer ($1)

Their best post-Pet Sounds album. Or post-Smile album, if you count Smile as an album.

Preorder!

Perfume Genius - Put Your Back N 2 It

Excited! Oh, and Polyvinyl sent out the downloads for Xiu Xiu's Always early, so I've been spinning that a lot the last day or two. Really good stuff, a bit less catchy than Dear God, I Hate Myself.

I bought the Decemberists' Long Live the King 10" (because the LP was $24, @#$%!) and some new $2 Matador sampler on vinyl.

A couple from the (mildly) discounted bin:

BLK JKS - After Robots

I downloaded this when it came out, a couple years back. Always intended to buy but that didn't happen until today. It's good. At root, they're a fairly straight ahead rock band from South Africa. But the African influences shine through throughout.

Califone - All My Friends Are Funeral Singers

I don't know how I skipped getting this for so long. I like Califone.
