On the heels of the Smash Mouth egg challenge, and as they inch their way ever closer to $10,000 for charity, I find myself wondering what my limit would be.  How many eggs do you believe you could eat?  Do you think you could do the full two dozen that it would require to save cancerous children?

They may be prepared in any style.  I would elect to have my twenty-four eggs scrambled.

Scrambled plain, or scrambled with American cheese, like God intended?

Probably just plain with a bit of salt and pepper; I think the cheese might be too much extra space.

I prefer my eggs over-easy but I don't think I could get through the full 2 dozen that way. I do, however, think I could eat the full 2 dozen if they were scrambled w/ salt & pepper as specified by Greg. I bet I could eat them faster than the dude from Smashmouth too.

I think even scrambled I'd max out at three or four.

If you can eat 24 scrambled eggs with melted American cheese on top, I will swear fealty to you as your Liege Man, until such time as I have the honor of giving my life for yours.

My girlfriend used to live with this guy who wouldn't leave his room for days at a time, then come down to the kitchen, make a 12 egg omelet, eat it, and go back to his room.

Subjectively I feel like I could eat a dozen deviled eggs, whereas with scrambled I'd tire out after 4 or so, but I'm sure that's entirely psychological.

Also the other day I had this flash of insight that went something like this: AVOCADO DEVILED EGGS.  But then I typed that into the internet and apparently it was already a thing.

can they be made into pudding or a cake or ice cream?  I think I could eat more that way.  also, is there a time limit?

I could probably eat a lot of eggs.  I drank two eggs after I got back from the gym yesterday.

I assume "at one sitting", so let's say an hour and fifteen minutes.

An hour and fifteen minutes? I feel like I could definitely put away two dozen eggs, especially scrambled with salt and pepper (good call on the cheese thing), in that amount of time.

I'm a little surprised that only Jim and I think we could do the full 24.  This may not bode well for Mr. Mouth, who, I assumed, because of his showmanship-based joie de vivre, would have the supercharged metabolism needed to consume two dozen.

this dude I know is STUPID RIPPED and on the 300 workout, just to see if he can do it. It requires him to eat a six-egg omelette plus oatmeal every morning.

At what price STUPID RIPPED.

Now, you mentioned having them in other foods; is 8 your limit on just eggs? How much do you think you could eat if they were part of something else?

Oh, wait -- I somehow missed this!  So that's three people who believe they could match Smash Mouth man!  Hm.

I think if the eggs were in various formats, I could handle maybe a baker's dozen or so.  difficult to know without trying, though!

Am I the only person who thinks hardboiling them might be the best way to go about this?

My wife reminds me that I ate 10 once in Korea, scrambled, when visiting Sorak mountain.

I could do 4 or 5 if I was really hungry, but I pretty regularly run out of steam trying to eat a 3-egg omelet.

Wait, I didn't realize we had over an hour to eat the eggs. I'm going to go ahead and say that I could eat at least eighteen eggs in an hour and a half.

I would definitely go with scrambled (just eggs, salt, pepper, maybe a little parsley), and I could easily get into the 7 to 15 category, and quite possibly to the next, but hard to say for sure. It wouldn't be comfortable, but I don't imagine it's supposed to be.
