(from here) Last night I met up with some friends in town from California. Before I met them I had scrambled eggs and matzo at this restaurant/Jewish deli that does not have a lot of vegetarian options and I usually get the veggie burger when I go there, but last night I wanted to be Adventurous. Being Adventurous led me to throw up all the eggs and matzo and like $20 worth of red wine. I think it was the food (it was really good and I am sad and I can't think how what is basically eggs and bread would have led me to react so badly because that is completely unadventurous but here we are), or maybe the combination, because I did not have that much to drink. I'm not sick, and I feel fine(ish) today, but I forgot how demoralizing throwing up is. Especially when it is red.

I ain't thrown up but I do feel poorly. Like just poorly as hell. This cold was so ill-timed;  it about half-ruined this awesome autumn day. Haven't slept well the past couple nights due to congestion and feverishness. Buh.

noooooooooo! I just realized I left my very favorite scarf in the entire world at lunch! Which was an hour ago at the food court of Union Station. And I can't leave my desk anyway, even if I thought there was a chance it was still there. Which I don't. CURSES!! I LOVED THAT THING!

I've never owned a scarf for more than two seasons.

I'm usually so good with things like that! Anyhow, most scarves make me break out in hives (ugh, wool), but this one didn't and was soft and a nice neutral (browns and blue) plaid, and was big enough that I could use it as a blanket or a shawl, but could also just be a normal scarf without too much bulk. It was perfect. Sigh.

I just had a patient rep who has been harassing me about getting records boring blah for a week pay me $20 more than the records cost and when I was like "ma'am this is way too much money" she told me to keep it as a donation. And instead of being all "DONATION TO MEEEEEEEEE" I decided to take it to my boss and be all "keeping this would be really bad right" and he was like "right." And I am $20 poorer. Except, philosophically, no, and if I had secretly kept it I probably would have been run over by a car immediately upon leaving work tonight.

And now back to annoyed: C'mon--I'm the scarf-finder, why I gotta have an awful respiratory infection?

What can I do to cheer you up?  If posting manic shit in the food thread is the answer, I have great news....

Boo-urns to that, I say. I'd challenge you right now to some sort of fun eating or drinking competition, but I'm at work. Otherwise I'd be throwing down for how many pieces of popcorn we could cram in our mouths at once, or the like.

Ugh. Cough that shakes my body, making my back and ribs ache and making me hurl. Took cough meds, stomach is reacting as if I went on a full-on bender and has made it impossible to get back to sleep, so have been up since 2. I have to work today, and I'm so far behind on schoolwork for having been sick for a few weeks, and its the end of the term. This term has been demoralizing.

Ordered a package online. Left shipping instructions that said package should (a) be taken to the back door, as I don't live behind the front door, and (b) be left without a signature, because I live in Canada and there is no crime. Therefore the delivery guy did not try the back (I know because I was home all day) and did not leave the package (I know because I found the 'sorry we missed you' post on the front door). So that was Friday and this is Monday and this time I stuck a note on the front door and the package did get left there.

It was not what I ordered.

So now I have to ship it back and go through the whole rigmarole all over again. Irritating.
