Also: I love 514s. I may never buy another kind of jean.
Man, I swear 514's have changed in the past couple years and gotten baggier. Urrgh - last pair I bought before swearing them off for life were like elephant legs on me. Pairs a year before that were great.

There, there. Not everyone's a cam whore.
eta: yeah, Levi's has changed a lot of things -- got rid of the traditional numbers/fits for the ladies and now have this Curve ID thing, which I think is supposed to be helpful but just confuses me more instead. I knew what fit, now I have no idea what my Curve ID should be, even with their "helpful" little guide. ARGH.

I honestly do not expect that anyone would care to see the clothes I am wearing. Though I do have some excellent beardage going on and may have to post a pic of that in the appropriate thread sometime soon

The 501s and 505s have changed a bit, too, I think. Fit feels different. Or maybe my ass is bigger.

I am wearing some jeans I bought at a local dollar-store-ish department store, and a shirt I got secondhand from coldforge. I am also wearing my Palladium canvas boots, which are lovely except that over the last month they have started to smell not so good and I really need to do something about this.

I am wearing some grey pants and a lightish blue collared shirt. Black socks with small grey polka dots, and some cheap but comfortable work-appropriate shoes I got at the damn Payless.
At some point, I realized that looking as fancy as I normally like to meant spending lots of money on clothes that would get worn out too fast if I wore them to work all the time, so I don't bother with that shit anymore.
Also, this outfit is not nice enough (nor matchy enough) to bother photographing.

My main problem with fancy clothes is that I am unable to wear a shirt for more than four minutes before I somehow get a huge grease-stain on it.

Yeah, I wear my clothes and shoes to death. I bought a really nice pair of calf high boots last year and I was treating them so nicely and they still managed to get a tear. I'll still wear them when it gets cold enough but damn.

This, and that if I wear a nice shirt (especially of a light color) to work, I invariably end up sweating up the armpits due to the fact that our offices are 80-95F each day in the summer and 30-80F each day in the winter.

Yeah, it's pretty rare for me to go a whole day without spilling something on a shirt. If I make it I just keep wearing that shirt until I spill something on it. Then when I've spilled on my last clean shirt then it's laundry day.

My good but wearing out black waterproof boots.
White Adidas crew socks that actually have some foot cushion.
Levis, 5xx. Light colored and in need of a wash.
Fruit of the loom boxer briefs, don't remember the color.
Thickish dark brown belt, Gap, I think.
Red-striped (red? wine? salmon?) T-shirt, one-pocket, Gap. Old.
Black ATP 2009 hoodie with Viewmaster patch.
About 10 days of beard growth.
Black, slightly boxy work glasses, brand might be Vervel Neurotic. Either that or someone printed that on one of the arms.
Picture planned for later.
EDIT:
What went wrong: I need to shave. And get a haircut.
What I did right: I like blue with reds. My clothes are going to get dirty at work anyway so no need for fancy.
What did I learn: Black hoodies may not be the best for after work, what with it being pitch black now.
I should clarify that I realized that last one, not really learned it.

Shirt: Gray, raggedy sort of Kurt Cobain looking sweater with three buttons
Undershirt: Catalyst t-shirt with animals on it, white on black
Jacket: N/A
Jeans: Whatever the Kohl's brand is called
Socks: Just ... black. Warm.
Boots: brown Doc Martens
What went right: Like Jim, I was wearing clothes, which is a plus. Also, I like the Docs.
What went wrong: Looked sort of slovenly today. The sweater is a tad too short, and the jeans were a tad too baggy.
What I learned: Same thing I realize every few days: I really ought to dress nicer for work.

I really wish I could get skinnier legged jeans, but they are hard/basically impossible to find for dudes my size. Clothes shopping in general is a pretty big pain in the ass for me.

Yeah, it took me awhile to get my clothing formula to a manageable state. It seems that clothing manufacturers assume that a dude of my girth will be much taller, or that a dude with my inseam will be much fatter.

Today I wore my United Federation of Planets tshirt, a pair of skinny-leg jeans I got at Zara a year or so ago, and a decommissioned-for-running pair of white Frees that have a giant stain on them from a cooking mishap. I need to do some laundry, aight

Levi's Red Tab Skinny jeans wear really well on me, as do Banana Republic straight leg & skinny jeans. My jean size is 38x30, 36x30 on a really good day.

The thing that gets me is that they measure starting at the natural waist, which is WAAAAY up there. I don't get it. My eyeglasses are more likely to touch my natural waist than the top of my jeans is. What does that tell them about your shape that measuring where the waistband hits and where the widest part of your hips hit doesn't? I think that all women's jeans should be sold semi-finished. You pick the size that fits the waist, that seems to be the trickiest area, and get everything else pulled in.

We are the same size. I like that for some reason.
I haven't tried the Banana Republic jeans, I'll have to look into those. In the past I've kinda liked the cheaper Target brand of jeans--I think they're Mossimo or some other callback to the 90s. But lately I've been finding all these pre-faded dye jobs on jeans to be obnoxious as hell and that's basically all they carry.

The vast majority of affordable jeans are just awful these days, what with the fraying and the stains and the fake holes and the ugly, pointless creases.
