It would be pretty bitchin' if we could revert to Woman and Wereman to differentiate between female and male.

You're a cartoonist. Make this happen.

Wereman

Dude, that already exists. It's a wolf that spawns into a human during a full moon and files tax returns and listens to Sting and other human things.

In a sense, yeah, I guess. It's just kind of startling to get a $3,000+ credit for Finn each year for 5 years and then all of a sudden, after making a barely livable wage in 2011, get $268.

Ugh! That sucks. I just have to pay out some hundos to NYS (and I'm only getting back $10 from Federal IT)

I miss the days of $1K+ credits for going to college and living in a Midwestern Disaster Area suffering from severe storms, tornados and flood. Just kidding about the last one. I wouldn't lie to the government.

Known problems with my car:
Rack and pinion leaking power steering fluid
Intake gaskets need to be replaced
Transmission is on the way out
Broken wheel bearing
Malfunctioning tire sensor, causing antilock brakes and traction control to not work
Check engine light has been on since before any of these things started.
I also suspect that the coolant is leaking and that the catalytic converter is clogged. The two may be related.
Right now, if I'm going uphill I'm not going faster than 25.
I've gotten over being annoyed with it, now it's just kind of amusing. We'll see how long it takes for it to quit completely. It's gotten me 100,000+ miles in the 6 years I've had it, so she had a good run. I think I'm going to hacksaw off the catalytic converter and see if it helps on the hills.

I had a car like that. It finally croaked in the middle of the Bay Bridge.

After it was towed off, I donated the carcass to St. Vincent de Paul, a charity that said they'd take care of the title transfer etc.

Two years later, I got a call from a county official in the valley, saying my car had been abandoned about 20 miles outside of Sacramento, and how would I like to pay the lien. It was like $300. The fuckers at St. Vincent de Paul had left it in my name.

I got out of it, but grrrr.

Hahaha. Does Nebraska make you do emissions testing during inspections? Cuz you might fail your next one if you do this. IF your car lasts that long. What kind of ride is it? There's something kind of fun about driving a car to its death, so long as it's not your only car and/or you ain't broke.

Nope, you can take any old clunker down the road here, no matter what shape it's in. There's no inspections process or anything. I've actually got a replacement more or less lined up already, so as long as it holds out another week or two, I should be fine.
Car is a 2000 Impala. I'm not taking it out of town anytime soon, so should it give out I'll be able to figure something out.

I have three! Though all together they're worth about 2/3rds of a new Kia Rio (with no options)

Jesus, flatmate's boyfriend, after having two massive arguments with your girlfriend in a day and taking off, I don't know how you could misinterpret my fairly good advice of "go home, do nice things for yourself and take a break for at least a day" as "call back in two hours or and have a long talk late at night where I can vaguely hear her crying on the phone to you from the other room". Blergh. Fools.

Dear dudes who live below me,

Do you really not have anything better to do with your lives than to play video games for ten hours a day with the volume turned up to eleven?   You're generally good guys but I think I'm beginning to hate you.

That would've definitely applied a few months ago (right after I quit my job).
