Whoa Bernard's a girl? That explains so much. And here I thought he was just a really girly emo dude.

hahahaha NOW IT CAN BE TOLD--she called me on the phone months ago because i'd posted my phone number in lj and it took me like 30 seconds to figure out who it was. then finally she's all "you know, bernard from lptj" and i'm like "OH! oh shit, i thought you were a guy!" so she decided to see how far she could get without admitting her gender one way or the other. it produced a lot of unintentional hilarity.
what's really funny is that giraffe, who hangs out with her in real life, referred to her as "she" on the board months ago and no one noticed.

haha, well, I see "Bernard" and I think "dude" even if I should know better. In fact, I'm sure in another month I'll be back to thinking she's a guy. I do remember her saying something about getting burned stalker-wise on the Internet before, and not wanting to give out her real name. That makes a lot more sense knowing she's a girl.
And, as I've said before, I'm still getting used to this "the Internet not being just dudes in their mothers' basement" thing.

no, I think there was a thread somewhere in which peeps was talking about the origin of their name, and I thought bernard was like "I'm not a dude" and nobody paid attention.
and also she once said this:
"I didn't think it was necessary or even desirable to state it, but I will point out that my name is no more 'Bernard' than elpollodiablo's is 'Devil Chicken'. It's a corruption of Bernhard, as in the name of a favorite writer of mine, and that is it. Please do not read any more into it than that."

Hi- I'm sending all you Americans a photo of my house in Glasgow, Scotland- it is pretty late here. Can you help me- I'd like to buy a Jandek album, but have no clue where to start- recommendations? Also, has anyone heard of Casiotone for the Painfully Alone? Saw them on a website, but the stuff is IMPOSSIBLE to get in Europe- if I oredered from US it would take about a month to get here- so, which Casiotone and which Jandek albums should I buy?

you have to put it online first
you'll probably have to set up an account at a site that hosts photos for free
I suggest

I knew she was a she when at a TMG show in LA, she gave JD a shirt to give me--when he came home he said "this is from that girl on the forums". Also I remember suspecting as much way back in the thread about introducing yourself (I think), when she was talking about her forum name.

aww thanks fredddie. he's about to HIT preschool. i worry about that. most preschools have this exhibtionist religion. i don't buy that. we'll see what happens. if i have to go there wearing a merciful fate shirt, i will, because he's the type of kid who knows he can say or do anything if he feels it. that's not like how i grew up. or most people. and i represent, g!

thanks buddy. my parents didn't send me to preschool. i'm like, what is preschool. is it FUN? clearly it must be. they were yuppies.
like that i've responded to the bored photo thread. it feels more real. pedophiles, watch out. i will cut your cock off and eat it so don't get too close. yes i read the statistics. cock = eat = me = evil. so be cool. i'll shave your mullets and i'm mean. i'm an intestine eater. how would you like your small i wrapped up under my nibbling teeth. CLEARLY i am worse than you. but other than that i'm happy to share my happiness with my Internet friends.

Your kid is painfully cute. I sort of want to eat him, not the way you are threatening to eat cocks, but in an assimilating the cuteness kind of way, or putting a fluffy kitten's head in your mouth kind of way.
