yeah, that'd be a fun album on vinyl. i cherish my cd copy.
is it colored? should be. pink and yellow. that'd be rad.
i bought a 2-dollar record today:
bought it because my wife and i are big fans of peter rowan's solo work, and this was one of his first bands.
good stuff..definitely has a sunbaked california sound, even though it was recorded by george martin in england. sort of like a more genuine, more rootsy doobie brothers. certainly worth a jefferson.

Mirah - Small Sale 7"
(Modern Radio #13)
"A repress of this single orginially released in 2001. Features 5 songs that were originally issued on a now out-of-print cassette called "Parts of Human Desire" that Mirah released herself."

other media purchased today
dvd:
The Wild Bunch
books:
Dry - Augusten Burroughs
Re Joyce - Anthony Burgess
Childhood's End - Arthur C. Clarke
Myth Alliances - Robert Aspirin and Jody Lynn Nye
i actually meant to buy led zeppelin's first album but i bought the wrong one. shows how much i know about led zeppelin. i figured it was time to give them a shot though, having never heard a led zeppelin album before.
im really excited about the books as well. i've been waiting so long for the new Myth book, i can't believe he finally actually wrote it. a childhood favorite series. hopefully this one is amusing enough not to soil the memories. also, Burgess on Joyce. awesome.

side one of that record is so ridiculously overplayed that i can't really enjoy it anymore. side two smokes though -- goin' to california is pretty much the best zeppelin ballad ever, and when the levee breaks is an unfuckwithable stoner cultural touchstone.

i havent really heard the tracks overly much. listening to this album today i realized i had only the vaguest familiarity with some of the choruses and whatnot. i guess ive been living in a bubble or something. anyway, its a pretty good album thus far. i'll probably end up getting a couple other zep albums sometime.

I picked up this CD for 1 Europe a couple of weeks back. It's in my trade pile.
Today I bought the CD reissues of the Wedding Present's Bizarro and Seamonsters and someone sent me a CD by an Iranian percussionist with a clatter of guest vocalists and a tribute to Johnny Paycheck featuring Niko Case, Jeff Tweedy and many more...
I will return to the topic of the Wedding Present presently.

man all three of those cds i got yesterday have been ruling me.
the necrophagist has some of the most ludicrous squiggly guitar nonsense ive ever heard, on top of being a first rate death metal album even without the guitar pyrotechnics. essential.
the into eternity is like a way more spastic, thrashy, vaguely power metal inflected version of opeth. so good if you can get into the more ridiculous end of the metal spectrum.
and then yknow, zeppelin. other people have probably articulated everything that ever needs to be said about zeppelin much better than i could.

Maybe something is wrong with my brain, but I can't stand Led Zepplin. There are maybe two songs I can tolerate and all the rest just plain drive me nuts.
