All at bargain, BARGAIN prices.
Radiohead - The Bends
Radiohead - OK Computer
Jeff Buckley - Grace
The Mountain Goats - The Sunset Tree
Opeth - Blackwater Park
OK, no groundbreaking choices there, but I need to expand my meagre CD collection which has been hampered by the scourge of my own piracy.

The Jury is in!
Wait, I mean, the verdict is out!
I think I am fucking up my colloquialisms... anyway, the new Lifetime kicks ass. Andrew, I hear you on the vocals being strange and off-putting at first... but really I just credit it to him being 10 years out of the game. And that pop album he did with his wife and the bass player doesn't count as being in the game. Maybe he just can't sing as sloppy as he used to. Sounds fucking good, anyway. And the songs are damn tops. And it's still Lifetime, and a new Lifetime record in my mailbox... man I never thought I would see the day. I moseyed on down to the mailbox on Friday afternoon before work and there it was, and my excitement was very great, indeed.
Seriously though this is the best emo/hardcore/punk record (call it what you want) I've heard in a long while. Say, since
Potemkin City Limits
. As you yourself (Andrew) said/typed, hardcore sucks now. Lifetime still rules.

I don't care for the new Lifetime. The singer
is
very off putting. And it's overall just kinda, boring...
I got these at a show last night...
Circle Jerks - Group Sex
Midget Handjob - Midnight Snack Break at the Poodle Factory

It was my first time listening to a Lifetime record. Although I believe I'd heard a couple songs before.

oh, and you thought the singer was off-putting on THIS record?
i called it off-putting because, for longtime lifetime fans (nice phrase there), it's going to be surprising hearing ari's vocals sound that clean and polished.
so yeah, you'd probably hate older lifetime. which is unfortunate for you.

That was precisely it, the vocals were too clean on the record. So, if the older records don't have as clean vocals than I'd probably more inclined to enjoy it.
Many things are unfortunate for me, Lifetime is the least of my worries
