Right here. I just finished an essay for my workshop Thursday. It's completely pretentious and all over the place. I started writing about these hippie jam festivals I went to when I was younger and ended up writing about entropy and the death of communication and all manner of trite, existential bullshit. I hope none of them see through my ruse and realize I'm just really shallow.

Hahahaha oh man, I've written a paper or three like that... don't worry, workshop peeps eat that shit up. Most of them are too busy trying to not look pretentious, but to retain a unique litereary voice etc. etc. so what I'm sayin' is they won't call your bullshit 'cause they don't want theirs called.
Gadamn I want to insert into this essay a short digression on 'Uncle Jesse Consopales: The Modern Greek in America'

It's actually pretty sweet. Nazi's came in, the gov't in Greek bailed to Egypt, so the commies are all like "Hey! Let's be opportunists!" so the commies fight the germans, and when the war is over, all the greek peeps is like "Yo... the commies ain't all bad... they fought the Germans!"
So the commies have to duke it out with the conservative-gov't supporters ie. the po-lice... then the gov't comes back and is like "Hey, commies, fuck off" but the commies put up a pretty rollicking good fight before finally getting their butts kicked in the end.
There. The Greek civil war, in summary, for those of you who care.

Mayhap I'll keep posting in all threads, just to give you something to do in your zombified state. Did you see my excellent synopsis of the Greek Civil War up there? Want me to relate it in less colorful terms so that you can fall asleep?

I just watched Less Than Zero with Robert Downey Jr. playing a coked up teen. It had a Slayer cover of Inna Godda Da Vida.
Now I'm absent-mindedly watching "Extras".
It looks funny. I loved The Office.

glenn danzig did the soundtrack to less than zero. it's pretty amazing--in addition to that slayer cover, it also has glenn and roy orbison doing a duet, amongst other things.

Whenever anyone mentions Glenn Danzig, I always think of his giant belt buckle. It is the biggest non wrestling belt buckle I've ever seen.

Once I was in MPLS with some homies who happened to be playing 7th St Entry the same night as Danzig was playing, I think, the Quest, and we hopped over to the uptown Pizza Luce for some pre-show grub.
And Glenn Danzig was there. Eating sketti. And we had to leave because we all were laughing so hard we couldn't breathe.
That is what I think of whenever anyone mentions Glenn Danzig. 3.5-year-old memory, still feels like it was yesterday.
Also: Mother.

One of my biggest wishes to change the past is to have danzig make country music or ambient or something instead of slipping into subpar industrial nu-metal with a revolving door of washed up dudes who played in punk bands in the 80s.
He doesn't even wear that belt buckle anymore, man.

the best thing about apple juice, is that you can stick a bottle of it in the freezer for a few hours and when you take it out, it won't look frozen for a few seconds. then it reacts to your warmth and the outside increase in temperature and starts to freeze instantly and you can watch it crystallize. and it is fucking AWESOME.
