SHIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man, I love Fugazi SO MUCH. For real, favorite band of all time, hands down. But the relevant information here is that I got Steady Diet of nothing in the mail this week which RULED because I had never heard it and NOTHING makes me happier than a new Fugazi album. And I was having a sHITTY week, like SHITTY AS ALL HELL, I cant even describe to you... but for some reason walking around with that shit on my headphones just puts a big grin on my face and makes everything a fucking OK. Hooly shitt. You go to bed, man... get your sleep. Tommorrow is a Saturday. Sleep in, enjoy it. I hope the weather is nice where you are.

My god, you post like a drunk. I can only imagine how you talk while drunk.

In other news, I wish I was as drunk as you. Sad

Wow, congrats on the new Fugazi album- The lack of stuff like that is truly one of the many downsides of living in the information-saturated file-sharing culture in which we live.

Have you heard the Evens album?

But yeah okay sleep, sleep, go to sleep. That is what I will do.

But before that I wanted to comment on how the reading of people's livejournals added to the context of this conversation: Lucy is awake but for the drinking of tea and the caffeine contained therein. (Sometimes I like drinking tea at night, even though it's probably caffeinated, because it just feels so classy and mellow and a good thing to do at night.)

I prefer to drink tea at night because I get the zing of caffine to use for working, but it isn't jittery like coffee.

And it seems to transition into sleep well.

Did you burn a grilled cheese sandwich? Because oh man that sucks. Although... not too bad.

I want to take this moment to advocate for the fancy grilled cheese sandwich, that are more than just cheese. Sometimes it might get too far gone into the realm of the normal sandwich but I mean: I am a fan of BBQ sauce on both slices of bread, the part facing into the cheese of course. Also a fan of tomato and ham. But to put all these things together you are no longer eating just a grilled cheese sandwich. But yeah add one or two.

i'm just a dumbass and forgot that the tea was caffeinated. two big mugfuls at 10pm while watching the ballgame was a bad idea, especially as i have some awesome non-caffeinated teas sitting in the cabinet.

it has not transitioned to "sleep well" yet. but man, it tasted so good!

Today's sandwich was lightly singed, but otherwise okay. I'm way better at making them on an electric griddle (thanks to years of working a grill in a kitchen).

It featured:

Horseradish
two slices of roast beef (gotta eat the last of it before it goes bad)
Ham
and
Swiss.

I made the best ruben on acid once that had pastrami, grilled onions, saurkraut, and smoked gouda.

Okay so this is a note to myself for when I read this tomorrow: Get some writing done, you fucker.

To other people in this thread, in regards to my writing. I wrote a short story that got rejected from ZYZZYVA. This is no big deal because I think that magazine/journal/whatever sucks and I don't read it and they don't exactly pay the big bucks but you know, rejection. The nervous stomach feeling of the envelope in the mail. That shit.

oh man... velveeta. that's... hoo.

And I say this as someone that's not a fan of swiss either.

Also I advocate for more than one type of cheese in a grilled cheese sandwich for the full sandwich effect of flavors colliding right in the palm of your hand.

Yeah, I feel you on the needing to get some work done tip.

I finished scanning all my negatives for my next show a couple days ago and since then I've been sitting on my ass when I should be editing them down to 20-25 images and putting together the video installation.

And this is all before I've even sent anything out to any galleries.

Meh, it's more to pad the portfolio for grad school, but it still would be killer to have a big ol' gallery show. Especially if people bought stuff.

And velveeta is the work of the devil.

(and for momentum for other people: Oh wow you guys, Beauty Pill.)

Fine then. Nighty night.

Meanwhile, did you know that in the foodservice world, that stuff is technically called "high performance cheese"?

It mostly just melts perfectly and never burns.

And god help you if you have to scrape that shit off plates... Nothing survives trips through industrial dishwashers like that does.

The more times you run it through, the more it sticks.

You should go make a sandwich.

You know... it just occurred to me that this topic really could go on forever.

Like some kind of vigil... there always has to be two people posting in this topic at all times.

But actually, I think it's just an excuse to boost the number of posts I have.

Is there an award for having the most posts in a given period of time?

Eh, if my mom wasn't wandering the house in a fit of insomnia (which means that she'll be bothering me every 5 minutes asking why I'm still up... as if it's not blatently apparent that insomnia is genetic in this family...) I'd stay up. But instead, fuck the vigil, I'm going to bed.

If she wasn't padding around in a sleep-induced daze, I would probably stay up as I really need to reset my biological clock (I've been going to bed around 5 and getting up 12 hours later recently... not good...) and the only way I can do that is by not sleeping. I just can't sleep when I'm not tired.

It was insane. I made my sandwich, she trots downstairs to make tea, and the cat starts meowing for attention from the basement. The whole goddamn family suffers from insomnia. We're insane.

(Actually, when I have a job and shit, I have no trouble sleeping at all. I just like to stay up late because the world is quieter at night.)

Oh, and as far as the "vigil" goes, the front page says there's like five people on the board right now.

PEOPLE! GET YOUR ASSES POSTING! KEEP THIS THREAD ALIVE!

I want to see at least 10 pages before midnight today.

I'm here but then again it's almost lunchtime where I am.

I'm trying to figure out self-employment taxes online and all anyone will tell me is "go see an accountant"

*shakes fist*

First, yes that IS one of the downsides... and fucking downloading a fucking Fugazi album is fucking akin to BEING A TOTAL DOUCHE. Wait, that's me preaching, not cool.

And the Evens album came in the mail WITH THE NEW FUGAZI ALBUM (also with the '13-Point Program to Destroy America' (Nation of Ulysses) cassette. So yeah, my ears is happy ears... haven't heard it yet, too busy with the Fugazi record right now... I will update though.

It's autumn, sigh etc.

I've started to read newspapers for the first time in my life, which I suppose is a good thing...
