Where do you learn/hear about these things?  (Not being sarcastic.)

i did. it kind of blew my mind. i mean, it's hard to know at first if you're really supposed to see marvel boy as the good guy, considering all the damage he does to new york and etc. but then later, it becomes really apparent just how awful dr. midas is, and i guess that's when i started seeing more eye to eye with marvel boy. the ending was still a bit weird though.

oh, and what's making me happy: first of all, i finally downloaded the last of the 8 b-sides that idlewild has released from their new album, so i can burn a single disc of all of them. second of all, that less than two weeks after i decided to stop randomly emailing girls on internet dating profile websites, a girl randomly emailed ME. it's still very likely that no good will come of this, but it's a momentary ego boost if nothing else.

Grant Morrison was planning to do Marvel Boy 2 but then got into a gigantic fight with the high-ups at Marvel at the time.

Aren't the Fibonacci Series and the Golden Ratio pretty much the same thing?
1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, 34, 55, 89, 144, 233, ...

89/55 = 1.6181818
55/89 = 0.6179775

144/89 = 1.6179775
89/144 = 0.6180556

The higher you go, the closer to the GR the figure becomes.

Golden Ratio (phi) = 0.618:1 or 1:1.618

I only know how to generate it geometrically- join two non-adjacent points of a pentagon and the line will be the GR of the length of the side.
There's another one with a semi-circle and two squares, but it defies easy written explanation.

I got to know it throught art/architectural history.  It's everywhere in classicism.

Alexandra- does the symbol ^ mean 'to the power of'?  And is the asterisk to denote 'multiplied by' ('times' in US English?)?

You could--and should--go around stomping holes and ruining shit in them thar boots.

I remember Cex wearing similar boots (his had more lift though) and a pair of Stu Copeland-short shorts after the last D-Plan show in Atlanta.  He was hanging around outside talking to people wearing a flap of cloth that would barely wrap around my wrist and some jacked-up looking death boots.  It was quite an awe-inspiring sight.
