Dude, you grifting internet? 'Cause that's a good feeling. I did that all summer, and it leaves one feeling so sinister and warm inside. Like getting free cable.

i wouldn't have it any other way. i haven't paid for internet since we left colorado. three months ago, we were stealing it from someone about half a block away (never figured out who), but then we moved about two blocks in the other direction. now we've actually got an arrangement with our friend carrie who lives across the street: her parents give her lots of money, she buys monthly internet, and lets us use it for free. it's a pretty sweet arrangement.

I miss my internet grifting dearly. I never had an arrangment with anyone, but for like eight months there were unsecured connection signals within range of my place, and then they went away and I didn't know WHYYYYYY, and I am really, really stupid/lazy/afeared that the broken keys will disappear and can't figure out how to undock my laptop and just take it someplace that has WiFi.

Anyway, what's making me happy today is the fact that I had "Janie's Got A Gun" in my head for basically the entire bus ride to work.
And I liked it.

Happiness = I kissed my crushboy last night!  It was really, really nice.
Like, shaky-handed, squeeeeee, leave-my-best-friend-a-nonsensical-disgustingly-girly-voicemail-at-2-a.m. nice.  And that -- liking someone and having them like me back -- is something that has not happened to me in.. shit, almost 2 years, which made it even better.  He doesn't even have a girlfriend.  That's a big deal for me.

However, my ultra-happiness was relatively short-lived, as I got to work today to discover that the show I had my heart/mind/body/spirit/SOUL set on going to sold out before I could get a ticket.

So I either go see the crushboy's band at my favourite venue in the world, or wait outside of the all right venue my favourite band in the world (that is not THS, of course) will be playing, hoping and praying someone will let me in.  I am, somewhat surprisingly, much more likely/enthused to do the latter than the former, but if the prospect of getting in to the MG/P&T show stays as nonexistent as it is right now, I will probably give up relatively early on.

Also, it is 70 degrees and brilliantly sunny with a warm breeze outside, and being born & raised in Wisconsin means having yr moods dictated by the weather.  As such, even though I am so hung over I feel like I am going to die, the overall outlook is excellent.

Hahaha oh man that made MY day I tell you. I've been accidenatlly dropping 'gorram' lately, due to watching the series right now again... I feel like the biggest nerd but not a soul has picked up on it, thank heavens.

Today I found out I won an academic scholarship that I did not even apply for, and it's going to knock out a significant portion of my student loans.  Sweet!

Also I'm going to be drinking hell of bourbon in about two hours.

-I went to office hours today and rocked my american lit teacher's world with the things I picked out of this one text, because she totally thought I was a dumb ass before now.

-My new herringbone scarf.  I tend to get really excited about herringbone, houndstooth, and all kinds of tweed.

-A Croissant with Jarlsberg cheese and coffee makes an excellent breakfast

- Porter beer.  I've been drinking a lot of Summit Great Northern Porter and Anchor Porter.  It's thick like Stout, but not bitter, and in fact sweet like Bock.   Draught Guiness has been good for me too, lately.  Autumn and winter are great for dark, thick beer drinking.

I saw my extended family for the first time in a while last night, and it wasn't too awkward!

and, most of all?

LOOK AT THAT WEATHER. just look at it!!

-i'm at work and the zombie walk just came through my shopping center. i guess the mall out in the suburbs that they hit just wasn't enough, and they decided to take a tour of richmond's shopping districts. which rules, because i really wanted to go do the zombie walk. i saw at least three of my friends in zombie makeup, too. awesome.
