ha! i listened to much much more elliott than that, but it was like one song on repeat for an hour and they don't count em. so, truth be told, elliott might have actually beat out JV.

(also, i left itunes on when i went to sleep at "wilco" and well... w,x,y,z....

what a fun idea.

1 The Rolling Stones 29

2 The Duke Spirit 27

3 Between the Buried and Me 25

4 Eagles of Death Metal 24

5 The Gun Club 22

6 Faces 15

7 Spoon 13

8 Arab Strap 12

9 Neil Young 11

9 Bell Orchestre 11

I've gotta credit John for this week's emphasis on the Stones, as it was all Some Girls, and whoever talked up Between the Buried and Me (Pook? Blake?) for turning me on to that.  Great stuff.

I've been working on stuff that requires concentration, so lots of instrumental stuff this week, but mostly I didn't get much listened to, hence the short list:

1 John Zorn 21
2 The Streets 12
3 John Adams 7

My week has been pretty much iTunes-free.

It's largely due to the fact that all my mp3s are on my external hard drive and I can no longer wander the house on the internet while listening to music from my shitty laptop speakers.

it's awful how i let audioscrobbler dictate my life, i would like to listen to music on my bigger better bassier speakers, but then it would not come up on audioscrobbler, so i can't  Confused

You could get one of those gadgets that sends your music from the computer to your stereo, maybe?

oh defo, i'm just lazy...

more than anything i need to get a whole new sound system. mine is one of those 80 quid home entertainment things, which is basically a few speakers a bass amp and a dvd player, that all work like one, so you lose 60% of the sound if you try plug in a vinyl or tape player or something. and that is just not on, i'm not gunna go downstairs when i want to listen to my vinyls Sad

so when i get a new one of those, i'll try make everything WIRELESS

me neither.  But decent post-rock is a valuable commodity these days, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, for now.
