This is the first week in years that I spent mostly with only my computer's white noise as the soundtrack - usually I have music playing 24/7.
I'm not sure if I enjoyed it, but it was needed.

i once saw someone who had 800 radiohead listens in one week, but they were not in their top 50, and their top artist only had 700 listens, so obviously they realised that radiohead are the best band ever one monday, and got abit carried away

The Scrob always seems to steal a few bands from me. I know I listened to a bunch of Saze Ensemble and a lot more Clientele last week. Blast it!

if the track has "null info", in which the artist and title fields are not filled in, it does not submit it to audioscrobbler. on some programs, it's a lot easier to tell whether your track has null info than it is on others. what do you use to listen to mp3s?

1 Weezer 47
2 Frank Zappa 32
3 At the Gates 23
3 Capcom Sound Team 23
5 Morbid Angel 21
6 Mogwai 17
7 The Allman Brothers Band 16
8 Cryptopsy 14
8 Guided by Voices 14
10 Mr. Bungle 13

I really wish this was weighted somehow by time, since those Megaman 2(capcom sound team - Airman Stage 4lyfe) tracks are about a minute and a half each whereas the Allmans are about 10 minutes each. Last week's number one was Napalm Death I think

Also a million high fives to whoever was listening to Christine Fellows. Love that album

Everything checks out as far as tags are concerned, I think it has something to do with all their crashes coinciding with my prime listening hours.

hah, yeah, that could be the problem too.

and echoes, i know what you mean. my most listened to artist is melt banana, but it's tied with current, who have far fewer songs, all of which are far longer than the typical melt banana song. so i've actually listened to a lot more current than melt banana, but audioscrobbler can't tell the difference.

You could get one of those gadgets that sends your music from the computer to your stereo, maybe?

Wait, you mean, one of these gadgets?

i just got myself one of those a couple of weeks ago, and it rocks and totally deserves being called a "gadget".

that said, i still wouldn't dream to listen to music i have on cd on the computer just so i can make neat statistics out of my listening habits.

well, okay, maybe the fact that my own computer isn't even connected to the internet and therefore can't produce any neat statistics might have something to do with it, too.

Pure hilarity, in that I listened to my #1 artist almost TEN TIMES more than the next in line:

1 Blake Babies 88
2 The Fall 32
3 The Rezillos 31
4 Some Girls 22
4 Funeral for a Friend 22
6 Gang of Four 16
7 Juliana Hatfield 13
8 Erin McKeown 12
9 Killing Joke 9
10 Idlewild 8

what's funny is that "some girls" probably only made #4 because i listened to both wes eisold's hardcore band with that name and juliana hatfield's alt-rock band with that name this week.

1 The Saints 35
2 Funeral for a Friend 31
3 The Rezillos 27
4 Killing Joke 24
5 Mark Gardener 19
6 The Posies 14
7 The Magic Numbers 13
8 Mega City Four 8
8 Orange Juice 8
10 Gong 6

this, of course, does not acknowledge the four mega city four 12 inch lps i played this week (some of them more than once), nor how often i've listened to the all the dead pilots/single spies split cd, nor the fact that i've played both triskaidekaphilia demos (richmond hardcore band from 1995/96) incessantly for at least the past four days. but it's a start. and it also tells me that i listen to far more funeral for a friend than even i realize.

I was all, 'what the hell is brother doing listening to so much IDLJARN?' until I remember that all Ildjarn songs are like, a minute or two long. Still, that's at least half an hour of Ildjarn!

Actually, that was about 71 minutes; it was Det Frysende Nordariket, which is a compilation of all his early demos and EPs.

When I'm on the computer, I'm usually working (or "working") so I tend to put on an album and listen to it all the way through.
