Any particular album? The Fitzgerald is probably my favorite, followed by Post To Wire.

The new one, Thirteen Cities - sounding pretty excellent after two listens. My favourite is probably still Post To Wire (The Fitzgerald is excellent too, but a little too bleak to be listened to in one sitting usually), but neither of those two are likely to show up on my last.fm account as I tend to listen to them through my CD player rather than through the computer.

Lemonheads - 58
Shins - 41
Hush Arbors - 34
Hotel Alexis - 28
Christ - 18
Matt Bauer - 18
Besnard Lakes - 16
Eric Bachmann - 13
Alamo Race Track - 13
Ugly Casanova - 9

I had to remove a couple artists that my brother listened to this week.

I think the new Shins album pretty much sucks. I really wanted to like it too. The last half of the album is pretty good I guess, but I can't listen to the first half.

The Lemonheads latest album is starting to grow on me as well, though I still say its inferior to Dando's solo album and the 3 previous Lemonheads albums.

I have read this kind of reaction from 3 or 4 people in the past week already and I have come to these conclusions: either you are crazy, or you haven't listened enough, or you haven't paid attention to the lyrics. Or a combination of the three. And seriously, man, "Australia"! Oh well  Smile

"Australia" is my least favorite song. I cannot stand such unadulterated twee. "Black Wave" and "Split Needles" are good though. I've heard that "Phantom Limb" is actually getting radio play in some areas. That's really weird, especially considering that the Shins had about 18 songs on their first two albums better than that one.

rl, it's the single and it's off the first album that that "natalie portman says they'll change your life" band has released since "garden state". that's why it's the song that's getting airplay. not because it's the best possible shins song to play on the radio.

Ha, at least we kind of make sense in our disagreement: "Black Wave" and "Spilt Needles" are my least favorite songs on the record. - I love "Phantom Limb", after having been initially disappointed.

By now, I really want to shoot every reviewer who starts their Shins review with Garden State. This is getting really, really old.
