Sandwiches seem to be such a polarizing force in society.  I never knew.

I heard roasted garlic, and got a taste-boner.  What else does this sandwich entail, titus?

Well, pretty much you can put whatever vegetables you want, I like all kinds of stuff like eggplant and peppers, and red onions, and whatever I have in the crisper pretty much, also cheese of what type you prefer; you use french bread and toast it with some butter on it (I use ghee, but butter works good too).  After cooking in oven, take the vegetable sandwich out, and put on some more butter if you want, spice to taste (pepper is good, also the red pepper flake things), and add the roasted garlic.  I enjoy roasting the garlic the most, and squeezing the freshly roasted garlic out of their little pods.

Holy crap, that sounds good.  And it's all because of you that I suddenly remembered that I got a little terracotta garlic roaster for Xmas, but haven't used it yet.

I just turned on the oven.

Screw that, I look as garlic as an incredibly useful pheremone to determine the women I'm culinarily compatible with.

Oh, I wholeheartedly agree.  In fact, this past Saturday, my lady and I stumbled back to my aprtment after a night of beer, and stuffed ourselves as full as possible with the most garlicky batch of hummus I've ever made.  Nothing like a stomach full of garlic right before bed.

So, sandwiches.  Tuna melts, yeah?  Am I right, guys?  Am I right?

Ah.  See, I have to eat dolphin hearts, to gain their courage.

You guys have any particular bread preferences for sandwiches?  I'm a big fan of rye, but I feel like it doesn't "go with" enough flavors.

I read this as Wally not caring about eating dolphin, as long as the dolphin is toasted.  Sounds pretty tasty to me.

It essentially sums up my feelings towards everything that life offers, whether it be dolphins, bread, teenage boys, sex jokes, joking sex, tears, laughter, as long as they're slightly toasted I'm good to go.

Except scarves don't you fucking toast a scarf or I will slit your throat.

Shake 'n' Bake herb-style tofu with spinach and vegenaise on whole wheat, dear god.

Again: Thank you, Stephanie.

I like basically any bread that's whole grain.

I have this exact same problem. Especially the rye with caraway seeds--that doesn't go well with, for example, pb&j. But Trader Joe's has it cheap, low-calorie, and preservative- and HFCS-free, so I make do.

Best sandwich, even w/ryebread: goat cheese and ajvar. I've recently discovered zahtar, which I plan to sprinkle into my next hummus sandwich. I've already made lentil soup and yogurt dip with it, and it's super good.

Greg, tell me about your tuna melt skillz!  I like to mix tuna, mayo, onion, dill, and then shredded 4-cheese blend all together and toast it on garlic bread.  That's a good sandwich, man.

Also: I've got to remember to let Stephanie make me vegan food.  All her vegan food sounds better than my non-vegan food.

As long as rye and swiss are coming up, I'm going say that ruebens are among my favorite sandwiches ever.  There are two great places to get ruebens here: a rueben sub at 640 meats (they make mean sammies in general) or the rueben with russain dressing on light rye from this place called Garretts.  The greatest rueben I ever had was at a place called Stash O'Neils, which used to be a restaurant, but has since turned into a trashy bar without food.  And now, we call it Stab O'Neils.  See if you can figure out why...I think you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I am insisting -despite my mother's strange looks- that there be cucumber sandwiches at our reception.   One cannot have a fancy "get together" without them.     My fav sanwich is chicken salad on wheat, which is strange b/c I don't really care for mayo.

Myke, where are you?   I thought you'd be all up on this thread?  Its about SANDWICHES.
